I love this place for both myself and my son. The instruction is engaging and does a great job of quickly getting newcomers up to speed. I love that it's not a belt factory and really focused on the personal elements.

Excellent instructors, great for people of all ages and skill levels. I've visited some of the fancier martial arts schools in the Fairfax area - you know, the ones with the slick fliers and the afterschool programs with 50 kids running around... and it quickly becomes clear that they're in the business of building their student base and keeping them there by being a belt factory. Martial Arts on the Go, though, has their priorities set on the real goal of martial arts: being a stronger, wiser human being today than you were yesterday. It's a fantastic environment overall, and people work hard and really prove that they're ready before they move up to the next belt. Kid friendly but technically very sound and challenging for adults, too. Plus, signing up for a membership at this location means you can also train at any of the Capital MMA affiliate locations in Loudon, Alexandria, and Takoma Park. The bottom line: training at Martial Arts on the Go is my favorite part of my week. Come train with us.

Dante and the other instructors at Martial Arts on the Go (and its affiliation with the Capital MMA family of martial arts schools) has literally changed my life. Thanks to Dante's fun, positive, growth-mindset approach, I've lost weight, gained muscle and a ton of confidence, and had so much fun learning some very difficult martial arts and life skills. I'm a career middle school teacher, so I can spot good teachers a mile away. Dante and his staff are phenomenal. I tried out some other schools before settling on this one and the others were either too competition-minded, super meathead-y and aggressive in all the wrong ways, too expensive, or had fancy facilities but instructors that kinda didn't know what they were doing. Being a great fighter does NOT make you a good martial arts instructor. Dante is a fantastic teacher - he's kind, humble, flexible, super dedicated, has a great sense of humor, and he really GETS how to engage little kids, teenagers, and adults. I just don't know where to start describing how much I've enjoyed my past year of coming to classes with him. Even if I were to move out of the Fairfax area, I would commute back to Martial Arts on the Go.
