Started the kids in Karate as a means to keep them active. I wasn't sure what to expect or how long the kids would commit to it. Six months later the kids love it and are Black Belt Club members and my husband and I have signed up to take lessons as well. If you had asked me then, I wouldn't have ever said I would take Karate myself. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner! The instructors are kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I trust them with the safety of my family during lessons. I'm excited to see the gains we will make, as a family and individually, in every aspect Karate has to offer.

Discipline, respect and hard work are some of the things my son has learned while taking karate from Brian Hopson’s Karate Studio in Yorktown. Everyone on the staff is wonderful with the kids; getting them to try a little harder, work a little more, all while having fun. No only do they focus on karate but they encourage and reward great grades and education. I am very grateful the studio is now in Yorktown!

This dojo is by far the best in the area in multiple facets, and we have put our children in two other studios prior to this one. From the first "one-on- one" session that Brian performed with our eldest son, we noticed the massive increase in attention to detail, building a rapport with our child, family-first atmosphere, and a great ratio of Senseis to students. Overall this dojo has been a good experience for our family.

Brian Hobson Karate Studio II is truly a five star dojo with first class instructors! Our son, Xavier, has been an avid student there for several months which I believe comes from the devotion Brian (Kyoshi) and his instructors (Sensei) bestow on their students. Leadership, confidence, discipline, respect, friendship, and fun are just a few words that come to mind when seeing all students train in the dojo. When asking my son what he would say to describe this karate studio he replied, "the best instructors in the world." I completely agree and highly recommend any person (child, parent, or adult) interested in martial arts to attend Brian Hobson Karate Studio I (located in Hampton) or II (Located in Yorktown). All students will be inspired and challenged with the karate experience they offer!!!

Moriah has throughly enjoyed her experience at the Brian Hobson Karate studio. She began her time here as a quiet, mild mannered girl without prior participation in organized sports. After a few weeks of attending the dojo, she has shown signs of improved discipline, work ethic and a great desire to achieve. As Moriah's parents, we are extremely pleased with the development in such a short period of time.
