I have been a member here for over a year. I have tried other places, and none can compare to this academy. Very close group of people, led by outstanding instructors. I would recommend this place to everyone: from beginners to advanced competitors. Guest instructors come by frequently and there is always something new to learn. Dave is a fantastic leader.

When a change to when and where I worked necessitated a change to when and where I trained Jiu-Jitsu, making the decision to join David “The Rock” Jacobs Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy was surprisingly easy despite a lot of good options in the area. I contacted several academies by phone to gather some initial information before I visited them. After my conversation with Dave, I was looking forward to visiting his place more than any other. Dave possesses qualities desirable in both a coach and a human being, and he sets the tone for the academy. The positive training atmosphere is a reflection of everything that makes Dave a terrific person. The instructors and students work hard and push one another to improve, support one another on and off the mats, and are incredibly inviting to visitors and new students. David “The Rock” Jacobs Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy is a team, and I am thankful to be part of it.

A great school and family environment. The Rock is an outstanding teacher of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Had a wonderful time training this week and highly recommend training here when visiting D.C.

Was in town for a week and rolled here. Incredible experience all around. David was very very welcoming and made me feel like part of the gym from the first class. The same with all of the other instructors and members that I met. A lot of strong jiujitsu here, with guys of all sizes. Did both gi and nogi classes. Strong turnout for all and great workout. Again, great experience all around. Wish I was in town for longer and could continue rolling here. Thank you David!

What a great gym!!! I was in the area for one night and needed a place to roll. I wrote the gym asking if I could train and I received an immediate response welcoming me. I signed the waiver when I arrived and asked if I could pay for a day pass. They refused my money and said I could train for free. As I was waiting for the no gi class to start, several instructors and students introduced themselves. You got the immediate impression that they have a strong family environment here. The instructor, Klint Radwani, conducted an excellent class that was informative, fun and an excellent work out. I'll head back to Seattle with a couple of great new moves. They also have several high end students, which made the free roll challenging. I left exhausted. Cannot recommend this place enough. I'll definitely come back when I'm in town again.
