Shin's TaeKwonDo Academy rules!

My daughter started the lessons in Master Shin's academy not long ago, about a month, and I am already very impressed with the progress she made - not even in martial arts techniques but in the areas, she needed the most- discipline, ability to follow instructions improved. I like the way lessons are organized - when new students are harmoniously accepted into the existing groups with the assistance of the more experienced students. Thank you, Master Shin!

Taekwondo is not for everyone. However, it definitely is worth giving a try. Initially I was forced into joining Taekwondo as quiet, wayward, young soul. Six years following that first day I am a man. I was not only a student here, but a teacher. I have been teaching Taekwondo for more than a year. There are a few apparent benefits of Taekwondo and they are as follows: Physical condition Defensive skills Basic listening and focusing for the younger ones Yet, these pale in comparison to the actual work that is being done here. Master Shin gave me a voice. He gave me something I will never be able to repay. He taught me a foundation for a lifestyle. I consider myself a "non-conformist" and I do what I please. That does not give me a license to be disrespectful, but it does arm me with the confidence to stand up for what I believe through blood and fire. I always used to be on the fence about everything. Now, I set a goal and attain that goal. Give this school a try. Sure, I have never been taught anywhere else, but I know that no matter where you go you will never find another man that cares as much as Master Shin. He is practically family and is someone I would confide in. The Taekwondo being taught at this small school in downtown Kenmore will have a lasting impact on my life. I would be damned if I forget what Master Shin has instilled within me. I like to think of this school as a constant set of trials. Trials of what? Irrelevant. The point is this school was the constant amelioration of my mind, of my heart, and of my soul.

My son has been a student of Shin's Tae Kwon Do since he was in first grade, over six years ago. My two daughters, ages 6 and 8, began Taek Kwon Do this year. Mr. Shin does an excellent job teaching, motivating, and acting as a role model for his students. My children were at first nervous about trying Tae Kwon Do. Thanks to Mr. Shin, they quickly became more confident and eager to learn. My son's Tae Kwon Do skills are valuable, but I am also very happy that his training has helped him stay in excellent physical condition. He has no trouble keeping up with and even out performing the jockiest jocks at his school. The Shin children are classmates of my children. Ms. Shin is also involved with teaching and running the school. We trust the Shin family explicitly and highly recommend their school.
