Senses Wilder is great with kids! His patience, persistence and positive energy are truly a trifecta of his teaching methods. My 5 year old has been attending all year still looks forward to every class (where he is learning a lot while having fun!)

If you read this. You are probably thinking to sign up your child for karate. Well, I strongly recommend it. They will love it! Sensei Kris is not only great with kids, creating a fun atmosphere, but also very considered and accommodating to parents. No wonder he is an accomplished author.

I was aware of Sensei Wilder's reputation as a martial artist from his many publications, so when my 6 year old son decided that he wanted to take karate, I thought West Seattle Karate Academy might be a good place to try. I am very happy to say that we made the right choice. Sensei Wilder does an excellent job of teaching the kids basic movement skills and karate fundamentals in a supportive, fun atmosphere. His jokes keep the kids giggling, his games keep them active, and his teaching methods are easy for kids to understand and remember. I think one of his best attributes is his patience. He is very patient with the kids and allows them to learn from their mistakes and he maintains a good balance of enjoyment and discipline in every class. When a kid starts disobeying or losing focus, Sensei WIlder knows just how to get them back on track. I am a martial arts instructor myself and I recognize that Sensei Wilder is not only a master of his art, but also an outstanding teacher worthy of respect. My son looks forward to attending each class, and I also find the class to be a highlight of my day. I am happy that we found West Seattle Karate Academy and I am hoping that my son will continue to train there for years to come.
