You will simply not find a nicer bunch of people, both instructors and students, anywhere. This is an integral part of training as it turns out, which I couldn't appreciate more. The training is thorough, and comprehensive, but individualized to your capabilities. I'm just getting over cancer treatment, and surgery, so this is, needless to say, important. I cannot say enough great things about this awesome establishment, and I am not alone. What businesses ever do you see with across the board 5 star ratings? I highly recommend Dragon Star Kung Fu.

I have been attending Dragonstar Kung Fu for the last 7 months and I have found a band of brothers and sisters who are bound together by love, responsibility and the pursuit of excellence in all that we do! Bound together by love, because from the beginning of our training we are taught that we are family. We are taught to look out for each other; we help each other. If one succeeds, all succeed! We are bound together by a sense of responsibility and excellence to be the best martial arts practitioner that we can be, without cutting corners in the pursuit of knowledge and growth, not only in our art, but in all of life as we experience it day by day. The cadre of Black Belt martial artists at this school are highly motivated, dedicated and skilled men and women who model the distinct Northern Tum Pai Kajukenbo Kung Fu way of life, as modeled and taught by the Byrne family! Their knowledge and committment are unparalleled, but the trait that sticks out the most to me, is their desire to help you succeed, all the while supporting and bolstering a culture of honor and respect. The distinct and glaring result of this culture of honor and respect is that Dragonstar Kung Fu is a safe place for anyone who may come, young or old. Man or woman. Boy or girl! We are far stronger with you than we are without you. So, there is no need to wait any longer. Come on down and see for yourself what all all the 'buzz' is about at Dragonstar Kung Fu.

With so many choices on what martial arts discipline to pursue, let alone a school to learn it, Dragon Star Kung Fu is one of the few you should seriously consider. Here's why: Dragon Star focuses on real-world, practical self-defense, not flashy, theatrical or unnecessarily complicated techniques just for the sake of "looking cool". Sifu Tom teaches the art of Northern Tum Pai Kajukenbo (the ONLY mixed martial art endorsed by Bruce Lee) which includes Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, Kenpo, Tai Chi and Kung Fu. These disciplines were all incorporated by the founders based strictly on their effectiveness -- in other words, if it worked it stayed in, if not it was discarded. Sifu Tom has over 50 years of martial arts experience learning from master practitioners and teaches what he learned as he learned it. He can trace the lineage of his style back only four generations to the founding masters. His commitment is in preserving the original integrity of the art. He does this for the love of Kung Fu with a desire to pass it on faithfully. Dragon Star is NOT a business. He's not in it for money like many other martial arts schools. Sifu Tom is *fantastic* with kids, especially those with special needs. He encourages discipline, respect and self-confidence. "Work hard, play hard!" is an affirmation heard daily in class. But more than anything, this isn't just a martial arts school, it's a family. Everyone knows each other, there are regular events (game and movie nights, holiday parties and pot-luck feasts). My whole family signed up and we were quickly embraced by all the wonderful students and their parents. If you are looking for a martial arts school, I simply cannot recommend Dragon Star enough. Thank you for reading!

I am so glad I found Dragon Star Kung Fu and Sifu Tom and Benita. The energy in the school is great. You get real Tum Pai Kajukenbo and quality training without any ego. There are usually several other Sifus and blackbelts in class to help the newer students. Definitely the best Kung Fu school I have ever trained at.
