A great experience. All three of my children spent time here. While they have moved on it was a very beneficial part of their development.

My son has taken part in Selah Goju Ryu from little dragons at the age of 5 and will be testing for his JR black belt this February at the age of 10. Sensai's Andy, Tigger and Senpais know exactly how to read a child and work with them at their level allowing them to enjoy learning life skills as well as karate. as far as the review below stating the parent was told not to correct the new student ....there is always a reason why a teacher does what he/she does .....its to make a student want to learn and improve on their own, yes there is critiquing that occurs at all levels and as you advance the critique also advances, when you allow a student to excel at the beginning of a class, in this case a beginning student , you do not break them down you build them up which gives them the desire to learn more and be open to being taught, then and only then do you start to fine tune the skills that they have begun to learn. A parent piping up to correct their child disrespects the skills and authority of that teacher or Sensai /Senpai. you build a repor with a student in order to teach them and the way they do that at Selah Goju Ryu is outstanding. a great family based organization --------------posted Eric Neumeyer

Good school which provides 3 age group trainings; Little Dragons (4-5 yrs), Juniors (6-12 yrs) and Adults. Self defense focused, along with discipline. Great for starters who wish to learn self defense, with opportunities to advance to black belt levels.

Good for a young child's social development. Not the best for actual martial arts skills... Instructors reinforce deficiencies by failing to correct then when they occur. Students often go months without knowing they are doing something wrong. I watched a parent correct a student for doing something wrong and that parent was told he was wrong for opening his mouth and that they don't do corrections with new kids... Um...how are they going to learn?
