If you live in Bird Rock, PB or La Jolla & want a professional but family-style, friendly karate, fencing, boxing or yoga studio, stop in. They're across the street from Busy Bagel. My husband, kids & friends have been going here for years. The owner and boxing coach are now personal, family friends. They are 5☆ all the way & reasonably priced.

Love the workout. Working on a black belt and they make you earn it!

I'm 27 now. Trained there starting at four through many location changes and up to adolescence in Karate. Did some fencing in my later. Moving to another part of town as a teen stopped my training as it was far but I had a few stints as a teenager after I moved. All the instructors are great. Terry and Freddie King I believe an 8th degree blackbelt and champion boxer when I started are like family. I haven't been in for a while but Terry is such a close family friend he attended thanksgiving with my family. Good guys, with decades of experience, as far from a "Mc Dojo" as it gets. The real deal. Great with Kids. A cut above so many other dojo's well versed inscruction in many styles. To put it in persoective they were doing Kenpo Karate, Kickbocking, Boxing, Grappling, and much more over 20 years ago before MMA was a thing and we watched original UFC tapes as kids to see how different fighting styles mesh. Not an "MMA" training center but plenty of diversity in training in differnt styles with experts, what you want to do is up to you and are free to combine as much as they teach as you want beyond Karate training. Recently had shoulder surgery and am out of shape because of it and looking to get back into better shape, learn more seriously and train hard as an adult and supplement my extreme drum training with anither physical outlet so I look foward to training hard again and long term as soon as Inger doctors clearence. Twin Dragons, Specifically Terry and Freddy who I know best dating back over 20 years are very wise and anything you can't find there or are looking to train in they know the ins and outs of so many martial arts and fighting styles they can probaly point you in the right direction to other good facilities and give you a run down of what you are looking to do and point you in the right direction if they don't offer what you are looking for or all of what you want as far as learning martial arts/self defense/fighting. Really great close knit culture. I'm 27, when I started at four instructors had decades of experience in Martial arts, boxing etc... True students of Martial arts they know so much more now obviously so very good place. I have personal bias obviously but def as far as Karate there is no comparison to chain "mc dojos" and the like. Twin Dragons is the real deal definately worrh checking out.
