I'm a matter of just 3 weeks they took my shy and timid (4 y/o) son, and brought out a bold and adventurous little man. He's increasingly engaging himself in a leadership role with his younger siblings, and cooperating with us on a different level (taking initiative, with gusto, and pride). From the enthusiastic owner it's clear to see where this energy is coming from. The talented staff feel more like a welcoming family. The diverse student body truly is a representation of the melting pot of NYC, as well as this international sports practicioner base. Respect is earned, by both the staff, and the students.

My children have been with Sensei Saro for four years now! We are thrilled with the new dojo. What sets this dojo apart from other martial arts schools is the sense of family. Academics, respect, teamwork, persistence...there is no separation between the values and the sport. I have watched my children grow exponentially through this program. Belts are not bought here, they are earned. My 15 yr old had the opportunity to visit Korea with a teammate, on their own, to further enhance their judo. We have travelled extensively to other states to compete. These experiences add value and excitement to our children's lives. This is the type of place where the parents become friends and all pitch in to help each other's children.

Looked around for a nice clean professional friendly martial art studio with parking in Queens for a long time. Found IJC. Found exactly what I needed plus an awesome incredible staff that really cares about your needs and works with you individually while really make you feel as part of the team. I am taking adults Judo Class but can’t wait for my kid to be 4 years old, so she can start too. Their kids program is amazing.
