I waited for the better part of a year to write this review because I wanted to make sure that I was really happy with the long-term results. I have to say, they are even better than I had hoped for!
I'm going to write a long review here because I know I had a lot of questions going in before I made my investment, and I hope this helps.
First of all, I had asymmetric brows: I over-plucked as a kid in the early 00's (why were thin brows EVER in?) and one of my brows grew back in all patchy and wonky. I really hated my natural brows and love the full brow look, so I used to spend time everyday applying brow makeup. When microblading got really big, I was like, OMG I WANT THIS, but was also wary. I found Skyn Studio after doing much research and reading hundreds of reviews, and booked a consult with Shana, their senior artist and also the owner of Skyn Studio (she's incredible and I HIGHLY recommend her).
After our consult I decided *not* to get microblading; instead I got the *nanobrows* service. Like microblading, Nanobrows are a cosmetic tattoo procedure and can be very natural-looking; the difference is that nanobrows are loaded with more pigment so it lasts years longer. It also a slightly more expensive procedure, but considering that you don't need touch-ups nearly as often it is a better value. I made this choice trusting Shana's work, and knowing that some people are disappointed when their microblading fades sooner than they'd hope.
I booked with Shana, the owner and senior artist (she costs a little extra because she is the most experienced), about 9 months ago. I spent about $700 *not including tip* and I absolutely LOVE it and have NO regrets. I would recommend this to ANYBODY but especially anyone who has asymmetric or patchy brows. She took her time perfectly redesigning and drawing my new brows on my face before she even started tattooing. She is so incredibly talented and really understands how to create shapes that suit an individual's face. My "wonky" eyebrow needed a LOT of work, and she completely lifted it. Seeing the amount of change she proposed drawn on my face made me nervous, but I trusted her. The results? Perfect. My eyebrows look natural and healthy and full, and a bit darker (as per my request)--the overall result is that I look younger. Attached to this review is a pic of my brows TODAY, nearly a year later, without any make-up, photo editing, or even recent brow grooming (you still need to pluck and trim but not nearly as often). I think it looks very natural and it is a vast improvement from how I looked before.
Things to keep in mind: there is some downtime after your appointment and the follow-up appointment (which is about 8 weeks after your initial). The follow up is totally necessary and thus rolled into overall cost of procedure. During the follow-up your artist will assess how you've healed, and use that to finish the brows--so you get tattooed at BOTH appointments. While you heal, you cannot get your brows wet. Also during this time, your brows look *really*, and I mean *REALLY* dark. I was freaked out TBH, I felt like I looked like a cartoon! Rest assured, they will fade SIGNIFICANTLY as they heal, about 70%. So you will look a little goofy while you heal, but DO NOT wash them early, or they will fade TOO much, and you will have more to do during your follow up. Also, don't forget to budget for a tip!!
Hope this helped! Now book your consult!! They fill up their schedules FAST and you will likely need to book MONTHS in advance!!
