The Best elementary school of Pasadena! Both of my kids are HPA students and all I can say is they look forward to going to school each day happily and never want to skip even a day. Both Head (Mr. Gary Stern) and Assistant Head (Ms. Kristin Haines) are simply wonderful and so pleasant to work with. Junior High is amazing as all the faculty members team up to provide the student with the best of their knowledge and beyond. They prep the students well for High school placement. It's a very well balanced learning environment between the student who are willing to learn and be creative and teachers who care and are extremely helpful.

This school is really the best in the world as far as middle school and elementary school goes. The teachers and faculty are so smart and not only do they teach, but they help the students learn and actually understand the concept rather than just making them read out of a textbook. I have been at High Point Academy since I was in kindergarten and HPA has been more like a second home to me. The headmaster (Mr. Stern) and the admissions director / assistant headmaster (Mrs. Haines) truly to make the school perfect. If you are deciding whether to go to Chandler, St. Marks, or any other middle / elementary school, choose HPA and your child will have the best nine years of his/her life.

My friend when hear and it was a good school to her

At one point in time HPA used to be an alright school where the teachers were excellent and fair. Around the beginning of the 2008 school year the school went from being fair, to being sexist toward males. Day after day I witnessed male student's repeatedly getting in trouble for their mistakes. MISTAKES. On the other hand females attending the school were never punished for talking, or anything. HPA used to forgive mistakes since no one is perfect, but HPA had to go be sexist and blame all the mistakes on boys, since everyone knows girls are perfect. The junior high math teacher will scold any guy talking, but girls who are talking don't get in trouble at all. The junior high history teacher will give points to males who are talking and even yell at them outside, while girls can sit and chat all day. The junior high English teacher does the same exact thing, boys who talk get in trouble, and girls don't get in any trouble at all. The only fair teachers at HPA are the computer teacher, junior high science teacher, and Mrs. Collard, the Spanish teacher.. Seriously, don't send your sons here, Mayfield and Chandler will do a much better job at letting them thrive.
