I had my boys with New Horizon School in Pasadena from Preschool until they graduated 8th grade. I can see the positive impact on their personalities and how they interact with others with pride of their identity. The school has caring staff that puts the wellness and education of the students their first priority. One of the many things I like about the school is that they always trying to improve and add programs that help the students excel. Thank you New Horizon School Pasadena!!

Dear readers i really hope and wish by all means not to sound overjudgemental or unfair but this is a literally by far the worst schools you can ever imagine thinking of putting your children in. Again not intending to sound unreasonable but i am just advising anyone reading this for your own benefit. The school is very behind on their curriculum and honestly don't care about anything except money. The administration and faculty never ever pay any attention to valid and highly significant complains unless if there is some family who puts a big number of cash on the table, which is just truly upsetting and too bad. Also, the teachers honestly have the worst communication skills i have ever seen in my entire life and are very abusive and incredibly unfair and are bullies to the students. After the incident i have heard from some people about the teacher who recently got fired for physically injuring a student and using verbal insults to students, especially after he has been complained about many times and was never fired or taken care of until literally seven years later. There have also been other countless events in which the same thing happened so this is enough evidence to prove. The teachers are very unqualified and don't care at all about the students' needs and don't know how to handle conflict between students. They change things from bad to worse. They also never follow the schools mission and the school's vision as they call it. To put long story in short words, i would definitely think twice before enrolling your student because this school is very unprofessional and do not handle things the way how they are supposed to be handled and are never looking for ways to improve or get better.

It has been a few years since I have put my son in this school and to say the least, I am severely disappointed. The educational system is not up to par as other schools and they put Arabic and Quran as a priority over History, a core subject. I understand that the school is trying to make Islam a prominent part of their education, but it should not be valued more than core subjects. As a Muslim myself, I believe the Quranic teachings are repetitive and sometimes pointless. My son says that every year he is learning the same Quranic studies, such as Nuraniya and Tajweed rules. I enrolled my son to be in an environment where he is comfortable as a Muslim and is learning more about his beliefs. The school has not done justice to my goals and I have heard that one teacher, who was recently fired for injuring a student, was insulting some of the seventh graders. My son has told me that the homework being given to him was too much and at first I thought it was an exaggeration. But, I now know it is not because I check RenWeb daily and I see the amount of homework being given. My son often times has bags underneath his eyes because of his homework and the time it forces him to go to sleep. I have complained many times and they just brush me off, even when my son and his whole class made an appointment with the principle nothing changed. Even though there were many negatives, the school still provided my son with great friends and good Math, Science, History, and English teachers. The Islamic part of this school is it’s downfall because it takes away class time from the major teachers. Those teachers deserve better and the school is letting them down. I would like to make this clear, this review is not a “hate comment”, it is simply the harsh truth of inside the little bubble we call, New Horizon School Pasadena.

If you are looking for a place to let your children exposed to backwards Saudi Arabian views, then this is the place to go. Very sexist administration and will not listen to valid complains. They only speak money. Recently a violent teacher got fired for sitting on a student's neck! This teacher already had controversial incidents and the school did not look at them until a parent from the Parent Board complained.
