I went here to get Senegalese Twist. I thought that this would be black hair braiding, but they still had an African doing the braids (I believe her name was Jeannie), charging the same price as I would if I were to go to an African Hair Braiding. I was actually told they would be 200, but was charged 230. The appearance of the braids are so-so, but she did a horrible job underneath. I can just feel a braid and it will slide right out. They were sliding out as she braiding, and I had to request for her to do many braids over. They also took 14 hours to finish. Renee was unprofessional, rolling her eyes behind her clients back. She would also talk about them as soon as they would leave the shop. I'm not sure how she does at other braids, but just having braids slide right out the day she finishes the braids is absolutely unacceptable, especially after paying $230. I am HIGHLY disappointed, and will continue to use my regular braid shops. Anyone can make an ad sound decent, as in Dolce. I would NOT recommend going here. Just to add a few things in response to these other reviewers. You pay before the job is finished, which is why I paid. Also, my biggest concern wasn't paying extra for length, but for 230, I shouldn't be losing multiple braids the DAY OF. Renee even saw her having to redo braids, as I stated "I don't want them slipping out, can you redo this one please". 2 of the 3 clients you've never done their hair before. I bought 100% kanekalon hair as directed, which I recall Renee saying "that looks better than the normal hair we use". I guess that was a lie! My review is from MY experience. I'm not "hating", I'm simply speaking the TRUTH of MY experience. I don't know Renee from a can of worms, why would I have a "motive". For the other reviewer, Renee DID NOT do my hair and I did NOT get micros, so you can't speak on what was done to MY head. My sister saw me and said "oh you just got your hair done, don't go back there". Maybe in the next flyer you shouldn't address Senegalese, because that is obvious NOT an expertise of Dolce Hair Braiding. So to Renee and all of your friends who you've had come review your business, you have a lovely day. P.S. Renee, your responses to ratings that aren't in your favor are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. So you might want to work on that! I'm done wasting my time on this nonsense. Bottom line - Dolce Hair Braiding doesn't have to worry about ever getting another dime from me. And to those of you who feel you need to respond to this, get a life. Be Blessed!

This place is super ghetto and the owner Renee is horrible. Very unprofessional atmosphere and the photos on her site are fake! Just Google "micro braids" or "braids" and you'll see where they came from. Go here if you want your edges ripped out and can deal with hours of loud, vulgar conversation. She is DESPERATE for business. Just check out her multitude of Craigslist posts.

I have been going to Renee way before Dolce Hair Braiding was born. Ive gotten Micro braids 95% of the time and I love them.Ive also gotten Tree Braids twice and I was also happy with those.I lost touch with Renee but I found her again via her radio commercial.I havent found another braider that does a better job.I was compelled to write this review because after I found her and talked to her to make an appointment....I went to her website which led me to her reviews and when I saw the ignorant review posted by some chic on Jan 6th, I needed to tell the Google world that Renee is nothing short of a fantastic braider.Yes she does keep it real but I have never heard her talk about anyone. She has ALWAYS been professional with me and everyone Ive referred to her.she may have rolled her eyes behind my head but I dont know. All i know is when im done my hair looks great. Its a shame that Black women always feel the need to hate on one another. I have an appointment in two week and I will post to tell you how it goes.

First, I want to start by saying that I am so grateful of Ciara and Renee for taking me in at the last minute. Today would have been such a disaster b/c I had an appt set up with my cousin's cousin and she stood me up! I called Renee first thing in the morning and she told me to come on in for $125. I got there and b/c of the length of my hair, I was told that it would cost more ($175); however, I didn't have the money and I was so blessed when Ciara decided she'd do it anyway (THANK YOU SO MUCH CIARA!). I've NEVER had micros; I've done braids to the back once and had a sew-in for the first time last year. Just an overall wonderful experience. Renee is a crack up, but she is sooo serious! lol Yeah, it took 12 hours (b/c I shamefully have a large dome) but the end product is amazing! Very neatly done!! Again, thank you so much to Ciara and Renee; you could've turned me away but you didn't. I pray that God blesses the two of you tremendously!! -Angelica

Poor Management! Filthy! Does not honor special prices! Stick with the Africans! I was excited when I received a postcard from Dolce, they seemed very professional and the fact that they were African American sounded even better. I arrived on time for my appointment and had to wait 20 mins for Renee to arrive. When she finally arrived she took one look at my hair (which is natural and shoulder length) and decided that she didn't feel "comfortable" and wanted another braider to take care of me. I then waited another hour for her braider to arrive. I made Renee aware of the state of my hair when I set my appointment, I also booked one of her "specials" which was micros including hair with 2 braiders for $175, to my surprise I had only one braider and it took her 15 hours! My hair has been much longer in the past and it has never taken me 15 hours! Renee is very unprofessional, she is rude and the shop is filthy! The braid hair often times was on the floor. I'm so glad she didn't braid my hair, who wants to sit between a strangers legs on the floor? And to top off this whole ordeal, Renee changed the price of my braids once my hair was almost done, who does that? I regret ever trying this shop, next time I'll go to the Africans, they may not speak english, but they are leaps and bounds more professional than Renee. The Africans honor the price they tell you, they have seats for you, and when one braider finishes they begin to help other braiders to limit client wait time. Renee completed her clients hair hours before I was finished, did she help? No, she left and didn't come back for hours! I wouldn't even give this shop one star, but the young lady who did my braids (her name escapes me) did an excellent job, my braids are beautiful and I can't fault her for the length of time or my wait, because she was unprepared. If she starts her own shop I will happily patronize, otherwise Renee and Dolce will never get another dime from me or anyone I know. JUST TRASHY!!!
