I've been getting my haircut from here for a while now and the ladies there are always so happy to see me and are always super enthusiastic about the look I'm going for. Danielle always does a wonderful job of cutting my hairs despite the 5 cowlick's I have on my head!

I've never wrote a review before, but I had to make an account just for this. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I recently got my haircut here for the second time, and l guess I should've learned my lesson from the first time. The first time I went to this salon was about a year ago when I wanted a trim. The stylist literally straightened my hair as soon as I came in and just cut my hair dry! No wash or anything! If I can remember it cost about $25...which I still feel like it was a lot for the job she did. But recently I had the worst experience I ever had at a salon. All I needed was a trim and I figured I'd give this place another shot with a different stylist because I was on a budget and how bad could they mess up a trim? I went in with 32 inches of hair, and it was to the point where it was too long for my liking and all I wanted was about 2-3 inches off. Immediately the stylist didn't ask what I wanted to do with my hair so I had to speak up to let her know I only wanted a small trim. I kid you not I stood for the ENTIRE session! Now standing for a haircut isn't uncommon for me because I do have super long hair...but never in my life have I stood for the whole thing. I thought she was just going to have me stand for a portion to get the length I wanted and then I'd sit down and she'd wash my hair and finish cutting it. NOPE. She did not wash my hair or put in any salon products in it! Just my dry hair and a pair of scissors. As soon as I walked in the door she put the cape on me, used a cheap black comb to brush through my hair, and started cutting. And to make it worse she cut off over 6 inches! That really upset me. I think she got overly excited with the long hair and over-cut it and it was a terrible choppy job. Did nothing I asked for and cut my hair at this awkward length that I specifically told her was too short for me beforehand. And then she told me it cost $26!! I wish I would've said something to her or the manager because $26 is not worth this terrible dry cut with no product or wash. I could've had a friend with no experience cut my hair better. When I go to a salon I want to relax and enjoy the experience. Instead I stood the entire time in this hot salon with no A/C. Biggest regret giving this place a second chance. Trust me when I say ANY other local salon is better than this place.

Tonic is a great salon! I read that two stylists have left, but this doesn't affect the quality of work the rest of these hard working women provide! I have been going to Tonic for almost 4 years, and my hair has never looked better! Thanks ladies for your hard work and care for your profession! It shows! I recommend this salon to anyone! Shine Salon- please promote your business in a professional, positive way without commenting negatively on other businesses.

For someone who doesn't like getting their hair cut, I had a very pleasant experience. Danielle is a very talented and patient artist who is highly aware of her customers wants and needs. She helped create exactly what I was looking for!!! Plus the salon is clean, comfy and there's coffee! Just go! You will not be disappointed♡

Crystal and Maddie have moved to a new salon in Carterville. It's Shine Salon and Spa. Just putting this so their clients know.
