First of all, I have never left a salon crying. This is the first salon that I experienced that. My hair fell to my hips and I wanted to cut it really short, an A-line bob (nothing new to me), and donate the cut portion. After reading all the great reviews and having a friend recommended this place I thought it was a no brainer. What happened was my hair came out rushed. It was uneven, bulky, and plain terrible. My stylist ran out of time to work with my hair and the next client was waiting for about twenty minutes. I still gave a tip because my first cut was free and I didn't want to be rude. Afterwards, I went into work and coworkers and friends urged me to go back to get it fixed. I came back that evening thanks to the salon's flexibility. I went to the same girl and asked to get it trimmed and feathered at the ends. To be honest, my hair is extremely, extremely thick. I've got a lot of hair. She was having difficulties so she asked for help. I don't blame her and was happy she asked for help! Amanda came in and showed her to grab my hair, pull down, and cut upwards. The result was beautiful! That's what I wanted! So my stylist grabbed my hair, pulled up, and cut down. I almost started crying at that point. I shut off and said it looked good enough, because from what I could tell it was way better than before. I guess that was my mistake but I realized that my stylist was struggling and she wasn't taking advice from more senior stylists. My stylist was sweet to me, and she wouldn't accept my tip the second time. However, I left the salon and cried in my car. My hair was uneven, the back was choppy and it layed incorrectly. My long, thick hair had become a nightmare and did not look like a salon cut my hair. I few hours later I called the salon and asked to be seen by the owner, Amanda. She was sympathetic and scheduled me in immediately. My hair came out wonderful and then I understood the positive reviews for this salon. Amanda wouldn't take my tip, either. Even though I came out with a terrible cut the first two times I left the salon, I have to admit, the salon was flexible, sympathetic, and after my third visit in two days, I got a good cut and only paid in a tip. However, this was an eye opener to me that the lack of diversity in the salon's portfolio may have contributed to the issue. My thick Indian hair may have been new to my stylist which may be why she struggled with the proper techniques. Everyone was nice and worked with me, but I do not plan to return as I have found a new stylist who understands my hair type better.

Carmen saved me from a terrible cut I got at another salon and always asked to make sure I was 100% happy with everything. She is very kind and excellent at her job! I also had a facial here, brought my mother as a gift when she was visiting from out of town, and we both had exceptional experiences. I am moving away, and I will truly miss Something You!

Wonderful experience. Needed to get my hair colored and have had bad luck in the past with other salons. This salon was absolutely wonderful, very nice and up to date. I got exactly what I wanted with my hair color. I'm glad to say that I've finally found a salon that works for me. The people are extremely nice. I also got a facial done, my skin feels amazing!

I have always had hair down to the middle of my back, but I was ready for a change. I was extremely anxious about getting my hair chopped short but decided to go for it. April was my stylist and she was incredibly supportive, informative, and helpful during my experience. She walked me through all the maintenance required for short hair, and encouraged dialogue to ensure I got the haircut I was envisioning. I felt confident and prepared going into my appointment. In the end, I'm so glad I made the decision to join Team Short-Hair. I received a FABULOUS haircut. I cannot thank April enough! I HIGHLY recommend her.
