After my first review, my stylist decided to try and argue about it, claiming the hair I got was what I asked for and paid for, trying to make me out to be an overly picky customer when in reality the final look on my hair is embarrassingly awful. This just shows clearly the lack of professionalism this family run business has. Multiple stylists took smoke breaks while doing hair, not washing their hands after if I may add. Don’t go to Angles, they’ll charge you more than a higher end salon for a mediocre job. I never agreed to work with the black dye on my natural hair, I was told my lighter, natural hair color( that was growing out from the dark dark) would be incorporated into the ombré that I paid for. The ombré that I got was not close to the standard me and my stylist had agreed on. I was told my hair would be blended throughly and told my stylist THAT was my main concern, the blending. I was not informed that the underneath was going to be left unhilited, had I been I would not have let my hair been bleached. Communication with clients is an important skill that Angles lacks apparently. The “higher end look†that I ended up with is still not acceptable for the price I paid. The style I originally was told I was getting was OMBRÉ not hi-lites, the hi-lites we’re added to my hair because my stylist had messed up my OMBRÉ so badly the first time hi-lites were needed to fix the HORRIBLE lines of demarcation, that I was never informed would be left it my hair in the first place. I’ve gotten multiple opinions from other hairstylists who have said the fact my stylist let me walk out of the salon with my hair looking like that the first time, shows the lack of knowledgeable stylist angles has to give clients newer styles like ombré. What I walked out with after my first day in the salon was black and bleach bleach hair meeting at horizonal lines across my whole head creating horrible lines of demarcation. This was all made less obvious by the tight curls put in my hair and the slightly more blended top layer of my hair. I felt horribly manipulated and disgusted I had paid 145$ for a hairstyle that looked like it had been done by an unlicensed, unprofessional stylist who was practicing ombré for the first time. Had I been told by my stylist that she was not willing to give me an all over through ombré for the price we agreed upon , I would not have let her dye my hair. Had I also been told in the first place that the toner needed for the hair color I had asked for was not on hand I would have not let the stylist touch my hair with bleach. I know the stylist decided to dye my hair anyway without the right toner needed because she called my mom and informed her than she would go and buy the RIGHT toner needed for my hair. This was before any “new photos†were sent, the stylist knew the color she had given me was not what we agreed on. I did not think to inform my stylist of the highlights I’d had done over a year ago, I’m only sixteen year old new to getting my hair done myself, not a licensed professional who’s job it is to ASK their clients their full history. It’s very easy to manipulate a teenager and I’m sorry to say that is how I feel after my experience with Angles. I decided to come to Angles to try and support a local business, I have learned my lesson. I never disclosed I was unhappy with the salon I went to before Angles, the salons I’ve been to before have given me highlights for 80$ from my naturally dark and given me much better quality hairstyles. I’m sorry that angles is under the impression that same hairstyle is worth 300$. I don’t think my stylist possessed the skills to give me the ombré I was under the impression I was receiving, and I believe other people should consider my experience before deciding to come here, and I will not be made out to be an overly picky customer when that is not the case. Angles salon did not meet the standard of a professional salon in my opinion and other people, especially young people looking for newer styles such as ombré, should consider my warning before coming here.
