I made an appointment for my mother in law and I. I was very excited about it after all the raving reviews from word of mouth and pics on facebook. We arrived early for my appointment obviously expecting to wait. My mother in lawla stylist was there and promptly took her in whilst I waited 10 minutes after my scheduled time because a girl in a ball cap who would be my stylist, came breezing in late. Strike 1, timeliness. I came in for a cut and color. I wanted to cut off my existing color and replicate what I had before. After parting my hair and a brief description of what I wanted she went to the back to mix color, for 35 minutes. That's time I tracked after I waited for what seemed like 10 minutes with a call to my husband because I started to have a bad feeling about things. Strike 2, no communication and again, timeliness. Now, I tried to be fair because I only had my hair done one other time but that process was quick and the attendant was prompt and not opposed to communicating her ideas and the process. It may just be me, but hair styling is an art that a stylist must always advertise on themselves, sort of like preview of what to expect for clients. I tried looking for her without seeming Snoopy, she finally arised and I asked to be excused to the bathroom to grab my wits to let her know I'm walking out. Mind you my mil had at least 30 more minutes left to her root touch up, highlight and color. I cam out of hiding and told the girl, I'm sorry but I changed my mind. Not wanting to place blame or be rude, I just said my good byes. All she did was comb a brush through my hair and put 3 clips in, so I slid out from the chair feeling very uncomfortable, told my mil I'll wait outside for her. I come back in to check on my mil and I'm approached by the stylist saying I need to pay for the dye she mixed. She looked uncomfortable and so was I. I could feel for her so I politely declined. She insisted on behalf of the manager, I asked to speak with the manager. Then goes the "procedure and policy" talk. I shut it down calmly and respectfully, explaining my time and how much was wasted. The manager tries to continue to push the issue of payment, I decline again. She then agrees after knowing I won't be budged, to swallow the fee this time. She does apologize weakly and turns away.
I felt very insignificant. My time obviously wasn't worth theirs and to have the audacity to try to charge me for something I never received nor used. My heart was broken. I'm a mother of 4 who works full time. I do not get time to myself and I wasted an hour and a half. To say I was disappointed wouldn't be enough letters to explain my hurt. No retribution, no sincerity. My mil even spoke on my behalf (on her own) to the manager but she dismissed her and "my" stylist was very rude to her. I currently will not recommend this place and if I shared what was said between my mil and those ladies, I don't believe anyone would.
