Go see Whitley. You won't regret it! She's awesome and knows what she's doing. I naturally have black hair and she got me to the blonde I wanted to be. I've been going here 4 years and I wont see anyone but whitley.

I’m not really sure what’s happened to Cowan & Co. lately because I’ve been going there for 2-3 years now. I went recently to get a pretty big cut and color on my hair. I went from long, medium brown hair to a short asymmetrical icy blonde bob. The first day I went in a series of 3 days of visiting a salon, they colored my hair with highlights only when I wanted a full icy blonde balayage. I know that blonde doesn’t completely turn out the way you want it the first time, but they didn’t take the time to bleach my hair to strip my natural color so that the new blonde would stick. Instead, they just tried to highlight the heck out of it. After a few hours of this coloring, they removed the foils and it looked pretty much the exact same as when we started, except now parts of it were yellow. The color was so blotchy, there were stripes and prints all in my hair. I called the salon the next day and they said to send them pictures, that they would fix it for free. I came back a second day, and they repeated the EXACT same process. No bleach, just trying to color over my natural hair color again. So at this point my whole entire head was yellow and I absolutely hated it. You may think this is normal because of going brown to blonde, but with bleach this would have not been so complicated. My entire head was yellow like a daisy and I absolutely hated it. Before we began this process I told them I did not want it to turn out yellow. After the second try, my hair was even more blotchy and looked horrible. At this point I had spent $100 for hair I hated. The manager also made me aware that I “cut out all of my yellow” when I specifically showed them a picture of the cut and color that I wanted. They seemed so irritated that I came back to get my hair fixed because it was messed up. The third day, I booked at Bella’s Salon and Spa in Bowling Green. The stylist was going through my hair, wondering how they had messed it up so bad because there were prints of color all throughout my hair. She was able to completely fix my hair the exact way I wanted it with 2 bowls of bleach and a bottle of toner. Cowan and Co. is supposed to be more of a high end salon with a nice atmosphere, but I’m starting to think they are just mostly atmosphere and high prices. I probably will never go back to Cowan.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE should you book a wedding with them. I booked in January, sent half the payment in and schedule my trial run for March. When I showed up in March my appointment was NOT on the book and the worst part our WEDDING was not on their calendar!! They said they would "fit us in that day" and rushed through an appointment. My hair and makeup looked horrible so of course I rescheduled and was going to pay ANOTHER $75 for a second trial run. When we called to confirm the appointment time they told us it had been pushed back. The day of the appointment came and they called us (in the middle of a 1.5hr drive there) and told us we had missed our appointment even though we were set to arrive at the exact time they had told us it had been pushed back to just a week prior. After all of the poor customer service and poor quality of work I asked if I could cancel and get a refund. The lady at the desk told me yes and to expect a call later that day. So we left to make the 1.5hr drive back home. Almost a week later I still had not heard anything back from them regarding the refund so I called. They said since I had signed a contract and they couldn't give me a refund. ?!?! Mind you they had my contract and payment for over 2 months before even processing it and putting it on their calendar. What would have happened had I showed up now (4 weeks before the wedding) to do my trial run and my wedding hadn't been booked? Would they just say sorry or would they have held themselves to the same contract and cleared the schedule for the two people I requested on my wedding day? HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Pay extra and go somewhere else! You'll be much more relieved on your wedding day knowing someone depending will show up that knows how to keep an appointment!

Cowan and Company is the best salon ever! They are dedicated to their profession and their clients. I feel like I am pampered every time I go. I love the atmosphere and their skills are second to none.
