I have thick, curly, medium length, dark hair and my hair had began to become unmanageable and flat due to the length of the top layer. But I had recently decided that I did want to grow my hair out and that it merely needed to be cleaned up a bit. I specified to my stylist that I just wanted a small trim and little bit of layering in order to shape my hair a bit more. I was also very thorough about how my hair had to stay long enough for me to be able to put it up in a ponytail and other styles as I am a runner. Everything started off fine with the shampoo, my hair was cleaned well and the shampoo they used definitely got rid of the build up on my hair. But when it came to the cut it was terrible. My chair was too low for me to even see in the mirror, so I sadly was unable to even protest to the mistakes my stylist was making. She had cut off a good amount and seems to had gotten carried away with the layering. Now my hair simply sits at my shoulders and the layering is so dramatic that there are pieces that are cut at my nose! My hair barely fits in a ponytail and is way to short to do any styles with. Other than that, the way she blow dried my hair made it dead straight. I’m so frustrated with this cut because it truly just doesn’t look good and there’s nothing I can do other than wait for my hair to grow out again. I feel as if my stylist was using me as practice. I’ve read other reviews similar to mine, and in the end, I just wouldn’t recommend this place.

Wouldn't recommend this spot for thick, longer black natural hair. I didn't even let the girl finish it. Hair aside, the hospitality from my stylist was not there at all as well. No personability, and I felt pretty unwelcome.1) my hair was only washed twice with only fingertips even after she told me there was build-up (due to me moisturizing my scalp). 2) I'm sitting here a week later with my preferred stylist at a different shop and she told me the last person who cut my hair cut it all uneven. 3) on top of that, I'm missing a lot of the length I once had before going to the art shop. I repeat, this place is not for longer, African American, thick hair if you're all about hair care. Don't mean to leave a negative review, but I'm pretty upset with the outcome of the "trim" I received.

Ask for Coette, but make sure you are not in a hurry. Takes some time.
