The staff was friendly, but that is the only good thing about this salon. The products dried out my hair and the next day my lovely hair felt like hay. The hairstylist (Victoria) did an awful job cutting it. While it looked nice right after she did a blowout, the next day I discovered that layers were all choppy and all in the wrong places. She layered my hair around my face so now it looks too shaggy to wear it straight, while the back looks flat and volumeless. And I asked for a completely opposite result. I spent 120$ there just to ruin my hair. Never coming back!

Been going here for a few years now. I don't trust anyone else with my hair other than Mari. Everyone at the salon is very nice and welcoming. By the way, real men go to salons. Just sayin!

Katrina was fantastic, I enjoyed the service and atmosphere, and my haircut came out great!

I moved to Jersey city about a year ago and I've been coloring my own hair out of desperation because I've not found a local Salon that met up to NYC standards. But, I did today! I'd go so far as to say that Salon X is the best salon in Jersey City for a few reasons: 1. Ambiance: The Salon itself is very special, though the location is somewhat hidden and off the beaten path. It's open and airy and peaceful, but also has an upscale vibe... without the upscale snootiness. 2. Kindness + Professionalism: Laurie (the owner) is lovely - very professional but super down to earth too. I liked her instantly and had this feeling that we'd met somewhere before. She was warm and thoughtful and kind... and kindness goes a long darn way these days! 3. Quality: The product (hair color) is high end and luscious, and Tricia (the colorist/hairdresser I worked with) was obviously talented. She was also very confident and thorough and did a great job on my color - thank God! 4. Country Music: There was country music playing instead of the usual crazy stuff you get at so many salons. It was refreshing. Honestly, I think if they had WiFi and a little cafe table, I'd stay there all day and hang out!
