Short story: I was quoted one price for hair and makeup trial, only to show up and find out I'd been booked for the wrong services and it was going to cost me almost three times as much money and require a second appointment. Long story: I knew I wanted to use Pinup Salon for my wedding day makeup, as they were the only place in Rice Lake I knew of that did airbrush makeup. I recently tried to book my wedding makeup trial with them to see what they came up with. When I called I had to leave a voicemail where I expressed I wanted to book an appointment for wedding MAKEUP. I got a call back the next day from a girl who told me that the standard "wedding trial" was both hair and makeup and would cost me $45. I said that sounded just fine. On the day of the appointment I drove up from Eau Claire where I live and had one of my bridesmaids come with me to the big appointment. I had to wait about 15 minutes past my appointment time, but it was not a big deal. Finally we got started - she styled my hair and then the appointment was over. I said I was also supposed to have a makeup trial, but she said they only had me put down for hair. I was charged $40 for hair only and told I would need to book a second appointment for the makeup trial. I was disappointed as the makeup was what I was really there for in the first place and the reason I had made the appointment. But I paid her the $40 and made a second appointment two weeks later for makeup. When I arrived for this appointment, I made sure to ask first how much this would cost. She said it would be another $40 and would only be foundation - if I wanted my eye makeup it would be the full $75. I was very disappointed again as the eye makeup was what I really needed to see. I told her how when I booked my first appointment two weeks ago I had been quoted $45 for a wedding trial for both hair and makeup. I was basically told there was no way that had happened. I walked out of the appointment getting nothing done and have now cancelled my services for the wedding day as well.
