Many years ago Kevin and his crew did a partial asphalt overlay and sealed and restriped my 28,000 sq ft lot at 1311 S. Virginia St. I was very pleased with the work then and did not hesitate to call him back this last April to overlay the rest of my lot which was in very poor condition having been only sealed from time to time since first built in 1960. The new work is without fault as I look at it now nearly 3 months on. I have no reason at all not to recommend Sierra Maintenance.

This company is the worst asphalt company in the Reno area. You would be crazy to use them. I have used them over the years for many jobs. Shame on me! I did not get other opinions or bids. Kevin, the owner has a habit of creating "speed bumps" over cracks to fill them. This is done with rubber and asphalt. The rubber turns gooey with the hot weather and creates a big unsightly mess not mention the fact that you feel them every time you drive your car down your driveway. If you see these elevated areas on asphalt cracks around town, Sierra Maintenance has been there. These bumps have his signature on them. No one else fills cracks like that. After Sierra Maintenance completed their crack filling and sealing we complained to Kevin, the owner, about the bumps. Kevin told us that the bumps would level with time and if they did not he would take care of it for us. Two years later when the bumps had not leveled and continued to be a problem, we approached him with fixing the bumps. Kevin told us we would have to pay to have them fixed. We contacted the contractor’s board about this issue. Kevin was told he had to fix them for us. Kevin tried to blow torch them and roll them out, which created a bigger mess than was already there. Sierra Maintenance was then "forced", by the contractor’s board, to fix the bumps by saw cutting them and refilling them with asphalt. During the job, Kevin told his crew to leave a lot of the old asphalt debris in the holes until we insisted that he remove it. We had to call our complaint supervisor, from the contractor’s board. He immediately arrived on the scene, but not before he had filled the areas with asphalt. Kevin completely skipped putting tack around the edges where the old asphalt and new asphalt is joined together. This happens to be a standard for asphalt installation. This will cause the cracks to appear sooner and larger than if the tack had been applied. Kevin was very abrasive to everyone during this whole process. I know this is a very dirty business, but his crew had the filthiest outfits I ever seen on an asphalt crew. I could go on about many other issues involved here but I do not want to waste any more time on this despicable situation.
