HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience with a dishonest mortgage broker while trying to secure a mortgage for our new house. This individual suggested a complicated and significantly more expensive option at the time of our consultation. We declined this option and agreed to a simple open rate mortgage until our previous home sold, then locking in. This individual disregarded our instructions and delayed the paperwork for a several weeks and started emailing random papers to sign off a week before closing (nothing submitted as a complete package - very confusing!) We did some research and realized he tried to sneak thru his initial suggestion which would've cost us an additional $350 per month in extra charges. When we pointed this out, he responded, "You can afford it". UNBELIEVABLE!!!! We were told it's too late to change it and there's nothing more that can be done. Being a long term customer over 15 years, I started dealing with the supervisor who somehow came to the conclusion that the mortgage broker did nothing wrong and that we were trying game the system and cheat RBC out of money! The supervisor eventually agreed to our original plan, but said we'd have to pay the extra $350 per month and apply for a credit after our 1st house sold and we locked in our new mortgage. We walked across the street and have and got a better deal at a different bank. Trying to buy a house in this town is tough. RBC is too big to care about their customers.

Awesome branch. Always helpful and very friendly. You can sometimes get a bit of a queue at peak times (weekday lunch time), but they usually have all counters open.

In the summer of last year, I had one thousand dollars saved in the ATM machine, I was born here soon. I don't know the need to use the envelope to save money, after a long time about half a month to a month's time, my card was suddenly deducted one thousand yuan, I proposed to go to the bank for the two time, and hope to find out, and return the money, until now, before I recover my mail for the two time that the maintenance personnel to repair what ATM, but I received this email with this thing is to stop the investigation, there is no need to continue the investigation, one thousand pieces of my money will be bank "ask not what stole the check? I don't know why I want to save money at this bank.

Incredibly bad experience at this bank. I am not usually a writer of internet reviews but this was ridiculous. I don't think that in this age of online banks, local credit unions, and the many options available to consumers, there is any good reason to bank at a place like this. I had to make a change of signing authority on a business account. To make an appointment I had to spend 30 minutes on hold listening to idiotic adds after navigating a frustrating phone menu. Once I arrived at my appointment I checked in with the dude at the front desk and waited. The employee I had an appointment with was 14 mins late and claimed that my appointment had been accidentally 'dropped'. The employee was incredibly unhelpful. They knew very little about the accounts and seemed tired and frustrated with the entire process. Keep your money in a shoe box instead of with these corporate jokers.

NOT a good experience. Wanted to open a simple banking account and was told by the teller I had to make an appointment - not that day - because they ended to establish a "profile" of me, whatever this means. Had to give him ID too. Felt like a thief, or worse. When I opened an account with BMO it was easy. Teller did it immediately and no ID required. Now I have to return to RBC tomorrow and find a parking space - not an easy thing to do, and then meet two guys. Pain in the ass.
