I have waited several months to leave this review in hopes that time will grant me some anonymity. I LEAVE THIS REVIEW ANONYMOUSLY IN FEAR FOR MY FAMILIES SAFETY! Allow me to explain. All seemed on the up and up with Steve until we signed on the dotted line. Then everything changed. He rushed through the documents with us using google to explain some of the terms we were unfamiliar with. One of these terms was to deal with his fee which he had laid out in a dollar amount on the contract. This added to our APR interest rate by almost half a percent! When I asked him about this he once again pulled out his phone and handed it to me to have google explain. I took it at face value and signed the contract. After leaving the meeting I kept going over the APR definition in my head and really started to have some more questions. When I didn't feel I could trust Steve or Google to give me the honest answer I went to the bank that our mortgage was now with thanks to Steve. They informed us that his fee was already built into the original interest rate and that he shouldn't have added ANYTHING to it! HE IS NOW DOUBLE DIPPING ON THE DEAL AND STEALING OUR MONEY! When we asked what we could do we were told that since we had signed the contract we could back out but that Steve would have the ability to come back after us for breach of contract. We actually had family offer to lend us the cost of the house until we could find a new mortgage provider to avoid any future contact with Steve or paying him any money. Before we pulled the plug we went to the lawyer to make sure we knew what the process of contractual law might look like. THIS IS WHERE THINGS GOT SCARY! The lawyer said we were fully able to back out of the contract and that Steve could come after us legally for the fees he was expecting in return. However the lawyer had dealt with Steve in the past and said this is not the road Steve likes to take. He instead warned us that Steve knew where we were moving to and that it wasn't uncommon for him to wait outside peoples houses day after day hounding them for the double ended fees. This wasn't the first time he had done this to people. He also knew where we worked and may very well wait outside our office as well. This started to take a very dark turn. Steve is far from a little guy and the thought of him harassing my wife and kids at the house while I am away for work terrified us. We felt like our lives would be held ransom if we didn't just pay him the fees, pretend like we were oblivious to getting scammed, and wait long enough to start leaving these reviews until we felt safe in doing so. We have since moved to a new home in a new city and in doing so feel safe in sharing our experience. THIS MAN DOES NOT HAVE YOUR BEST INTEREST IN MIND. HE IS A THIEF AND A CROOK AND WILL RIP YOU OFF THE FIRST CHANCE HE GETS. THEN HARASS YOU UNTIL YOU PAY UP! Whatever you do........DON'T SIGN ANYTHING WITH THIS GUY! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!
