We were first time home buyers, and I work for one of the major Canadian banks. We talked with the bank agents and also with Eric Lamy, as an independent mortgage agent. Although the bank offered employee rates, Eric offered rates that were not far off. We chose Eric's slightly higher rates because even during the shopping period we could see the difference in the level of service. We thought this will translate into fewer surprises down the line. Eric was generous with his time and provided all the information that we needed. He explained our choices clearly and we were able to make informed decisions at every stage. In the end, when we needed to close a deal very fast, Eric helped us gather all the relevant documents and made sure that our mortgage is approved in time. We felt that Eric's goal is that we walk away with the best mortgage for us. We are confident that the options suit our needs and with ongoing monitoring of national bank's rates and the more personal attention, we might end up saving money by reacting to the economic changes and adjusting the mortgage at the right time. The budgeting tools and info that Eric presented helped us plan realistically. We also had the most smooth experience with an amazing agent that Eric recommended and managed to buy our ideal home without extending ourselves financially.

As first time homebuyers, we got so lucky to work with Eric for this overwhelming experience. Right from the start he put much of our concerns at ease, explaining every step, offering helpful advice, staying fully connected and engaged. He always kept our budget in mind and in the end we were pleasantly surprised at how under budget things turned out! His involvement made us feel well taken care of, which I found really comforting, for a process that can be a little scary for the first time. In addition to his involvement with the mortgage, his recommendation of a real estate agent was also terrific. We found a perfect home very quickly, and well under our budget. Thank you so much Eric, we truly feel really lucky to have worked with you in this process, we have a strong feeling we saved a ton of money by having you manage things for us. Very grateful. I’m sure many like myself are not that savvy when it comes to dealing with their mortgages and how to look into their options. I was overwhelmed with information but Hercules from Mortgage Scout was amazing at answering all my questions, guiding me through the process, finding me the best rate and advised me of so many opportunities I was not aware of. I am beyond happy with this company’s service and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a mortgage broker. I went through this process once in the past and it was no where near as smooth of a transition which is what made me nervous to do this again, but now I really wish I had met this team sooner, they are saving me so much money with my new rate. You genuinely feel like you are in good hands from beginning to end!
