Honest, transparent, efficient, prompt. This is how I would describe Matthew Breston at Iron Harbor. Rarely have I ever written a review for someone who has done nothing for me, but this is an exception. Allow me to explain... I was looking for a loan on an old house and was referred by a friend to Matthew. We started the loan process with Matthew and he was lighting fast every step of the way. Matthew would answer questions via email as soon as I sent them at any time day or night. He was always willing to talk via phone with any questions or concerns that I had about the loan process. There are so many options that you have with your loan, and I had a million questions as to what I could or couldn't do. Matthew took the time to answer these questions either by explaining them to me, or showing me graphs/charts as to what kind of effect each decision would mean. This helped put me at ease with the huge decision I was about to make. To top things off... when we finally got our appraisal value which was valued under our loan amount... Matthew convinced me to NOT go forward with the house even though he could have gotten me the loan for the full amount. He basically pushed business away from himself in order to make sure that I didn't make a bad decision. This showed to me that he was looking out for my best interests! So while I didn't actually go through with a loan with Matthew, I can say with confidence that the next time the opportunity arises, he will be the first person I look to.

First time home buyers always test the patience of the mortgage broker. However Matthew was very patient and informative and made the process really smooth for me. Also, he was very adept at dealing with unique situations which emerged during the process! Its a no brainer 5/5 rating from me.

Best closing experience ever. He is very thorough and accurate. He returns all calls and emails quickly. Kept us informed of the situation through the entire process . . . . never over-promised, but in my mind, over-delivered. There were no surprises at all during the process.

Every one of these 5 star reviews is accurate. You will be hard pressed to find another mortgage broker as good as Matthew Breston.

Every review for this company is rated to 5 stars and after working with them I understand why. I worked with Matthew for my very first home purchase and he made the experience a very quick and smooth process from start to finish. The day I walked through my home to the day we closed on the house was almost exactly a 1 month time span, which was truly incredible efficiency for this home purchase (and this was during the holidays!). First off, he hands down was able to offer me the lowest interest rate I could find for myself. As this home hit the market and we went through the walk through and talks with the seller, we needed to move fast as I was interested in closing before the year ended (for homestead tax exemption purposes). As I thought it would be me pushing on my lender to keep things moving to hit our target close date, it was in fact the other way around. Matthew continuously kept in touch with me and made sure I perform all my necessary actions and provide what I needed to ensure we get everything done (inspections, negotiations, appraisal, insurance, etc) before close date and then some in case any delays happened along the way. Matthew always stays connected (almost any time day or night) and replies to any little or big questions or concerns you may have (seriously, he responds to text and emails almost always within 5 minutes). This was especially helpful for me as for this particular transaction I was not using a Buyer realtor (With his experience and knowledge of these transactions, I certainly didn't miss having one). When we closed, there were zero surprises with closing cost or any of the expected paperwork. I will 100% be looking to work with Matthew again when the time comes!
