The only place I'll get a mortgage. So inexpensive and so much easier than traditional banks. Once they sell your mortgage (and they will) they still maintain the mortgage. So simple and convenient.

BEWARE: Do not get your mortgage through this bank. The lack of oversight and failure to properly ensure their customers are making appropriate escrow payments is simply astounding. My wife and I were informed that Union Savings didn't collect homeowner's insurance premiums as part of our escrow payments last year (we are beginning year 3 of our mortgage). This left an escrow shortage/deficit of nearly $2,500. They sent us a casual letter in the mail saying this is what we owe. Our mortgage requires us to maintain homeowner's insurance, which we have done, and the payments have always gone from our escrow to the insurer. Union Savings even admitted that their system flagged our loan as not having insurance (even though it did), yet they never contacted us or our insurer to verify that we did indeed still have homeowner's insurance. This simple step would have prevented the shortage/deficit. Instead, they just waited until the end of the year and sent us a $2,500 bill. The escrow department blames their system, yet the system told them to flag our account and the human side of the operation simply didn't follow up with us. Their reason "the amount of loans we analyze doesn't allow us to do so." Are you kidding me? There are lenders 20 times their size that are able to ensure their customers receive the appropriate service and attention necessary to prevent a $2,500 bill at the end of the year. Don't blame your system. Don't tell us you are too big. Tell us you messed up and how you plan to fix it so that this doesn't happen again. Maybe even consider picking up the phone or sending a non-generic letter that includes an apology. Shop around people. Don't get a mortgage here.

Steve Riha is the guy to see here. I am self-employed and with some late payments in my history. Steve ran my credit report and said I had an "ok" 680 credit score (beware of relying on over-inflated credit scores as Credit Karma said my score was 765). I knew that I had a number of late payments on my credit report back in 2014 (these are on your report for seven years). Well since those very tough days, I got out of credit card debt and felt pretty confident I could get a better deal than the 30 year mortgage I had now had for 10 years. Steve processed my refinance in less than 30 days - getting me a 15 year mortgage loan at 3.25%. I also got to skip a month payment - and also a nice surprise - the refund from my old mortgage escrow equaled my next payment (that's two months of no payments)! Crikey, what's not to like here?

I've financed and refinanced numerous times with Union Savings over the last 15 years. I keep coming back because of consistency and great customer service. Honestly though, the person I work with might be the real reason everything has been so consistently well-serviced. Ask for Mike Stevens- great guy!
