Stay away from this guy - shady practice. David seemed nice when I first met him and didn't know much. As soon as I educated myself and was asking technical questions, he stopped responding to me. I asked to see a certificate of the diamond he was trying to sell to me at a self-proclaimed "a very good price" and he said he didn't have it and that he would need to send the stone to California to obtain it. I was ready to settle for even a PDF copy, which he could not present. I then asked him to find a diamond within my specifications and he disappeared without cause or reason. I have heard good things about the quality of David's rings but I would be very wary of purchasing a diamond through him. A blessing in disguise, in my honest opinion. There are many, many, many diamond dealers out there in Calgary, online, and in the States. Any reputable retailer will be more than happy to provide a certificate to guarantee such a significant purchase. In the end, I was able to find something significantly better, that my wife is still in love with. Admittedly, I did spend a little more than my original budget but it was worth it for the piece of mind. If David was so standoffish at the start, I can't imagine the difficulties I would have encountered if there was a problem with the finished product. Do your research. There are better people to work with. Finding the right ring takes patience and should be enjoyable. Spare yourself the worry.

I have been dealing with David for the last 4+ years. I have found him to be very knowledgeable. He is conscientious in his explanations and he's fund to deal with.
