First ill start by saying ive been a longtime customer always satisfied with my purchases but never really liked the way some of the staff treated me. Dispite the service ive always been quik to tell a friend about Royal city jewelers good prices and 5 year policy for 20% upgrading jewellry. I have upgraded my purchases several times always paying up. Chains, rings, watches Thousands of dollars and have reciepts aswell as the jewelry to prove my patronage. Well today they decided to tell me i could only get half of what i paid on my next trade up. They told me since im getting close to 5 years on my reciept they can only offer me half of the value. Said the general manager who wasnt even on site would only approve me for 50% of my reciept. Read the fine print!!! But there is no fine print. No stipulations, return within 5 years in good condition recieve full price down on 20% upgrade. Very suspicious. Was it my appearance, my ethnicity, my age. I would not accept 50% less for something in the same condition that it was when i purchased it from them. They made money when i bought the first piece. Theyll make money when i uprade. But now they want to make money by giving me less for my trade. You wont give me what i paid but you will give me half. So my piece does have value. Alot more i could say. But i wont make a difference. A loyal customer has no value in an internet era. Very disappointing. Thanks royal city for all the birthdays and mothers days Fathers days anniversarys gifts they always made my family smile. No more. I left feeling exploited with no good explanation other then it is what it is. Take it or leave it. Shame on you.

I came in to get some jewelry checked out for authenticity. The manager who helped me identified the silver rings I had as fakes and certified it as so helping me get my money back from the online retailer I purchased from, no payment asked. It's a great store with unique and reasonably priced items. I definitely recommend stopping in if your looking for jewelry. You'll probably save some money and/or find items noone else has.

Love this place!!! I have been coming to Royal City Jewellers for 38 years and i frequent this establishment often! I believe Royal City Jewellers is beyond reproach whether you are going to them for a loan or for purshases. The staff are knowledgeable and they seem very sincere in doing their very best to help all their customers. Ive always left knowing i got the best bang for my buck. Every purchase ive made from them has always been appraised without fail over double what i paid. I will only purshase my Jewellery from them, I trust them more than Birks or Peoples, Micheal Hill ect!

I was in to pawn my Digital SLR camera kit. The guy behind the counter said that my kit, with extra lenses, sells for $300 new---- not true as the camera itself sells for $900 at costco... never mind the extras...another $400. I graciously accepted his evaluation and agreed to a loan for $80. I mentioned that the camera was worth more than $300, yet I'd take the $80 thankfully. I didnt get his name. All I can say is that he wore glasses and was he cross eyed.... He threw a hissy fit and accused me, of accusing him of ripping me off! Where the **** did that come from? Then he refused to serve me. This guy is obviously very insecure and has inferiority issues. Dont fire him, just put him in the back sweeping floors, rather than have him dealing with customers... Thats just bad business.
