My fiancé and I walked into Jewelry Couture on a whim and ran into Joseph and Arnold(?). We were looking for an engagement ring. I already had a ring in mind from the Brilliant Earth website. I wanted a single white diamond with blue sapphire accent stones. Joseph and Arnold showed us several rings that did not quite have the look I was looking for. I showed Joseph a photo of the ring I liked and he offered to make it for us. Before he showed us any stones, he talked to us about what we were looking for. My fiancé wanted a diamond that shined brightly, but I didn’t want us to spend a huge amount. I tend to be more frugal. He asked me about the significance of the blue sapphires and I explained that I loved water and the blue was a peaceful color for me. I expressed that I actually preferred more of a teal color. I also explained that I wanted something that looked organic. He had showed me a ring that had white gold leaves in the band and I loved it. I also saw another ring with a tulip setting that made the diamond look like a flower. I loved that as well. After this in depth conversation where Joseph tried to understand what we were looking for, he came back with several diamonds. My fiancé selected a stunning diamond that had perfect cut and color and less clarity creating the brilliance he was looking for and the value I was looking for. Although I was expecting blue sapphires, Joseph presented blue diamonds that were the teal color I described to him. They were phenomenal and exactly the color I was looking for with all the brilliance of a diamond. They were perfect. Then, we designed the ring on paper. I wanted the diamond in the tulip setting surrounded by the blue diamonds with the tiny leaves on the back of the matching wedding ring. Joseph suggested that the leaves on the wedding band could match up with notches created in the engagement ring to keep the set together when worn. We agreed to the sketch. Approximately one week later, Joseph sent us a CAD 3D model of the ring. It beautifully matched the sketch. Then, they presented us with an actual wax model of the ring for our review and approval before they made the ring. I want to say that it took them about a month to create the ring. They sent us a photo to let us know that the ring was ready. I can only say that the photo did not do it justice. The rings, in person, were absolutely stunning and far surpassed my expectations. The diamond looked like a lotus flower sitting on top of a peaceful blue pond. My fiancé presented me with the ring and Joseph and Arnold provided the champagne and pastries to celebrate. The experience was absolutely perfect and Joseph and Arnold were such a pleasure to work with. The energy was not high pressure. We felt like they were genuinely interested in pleasing us. It was a partnership. As for value, I priced up a similar ring on Brilliant Earth, and the price was comparable except that we got exactly what were were looking for in terms of customization. Our wedding set is truly one of a kind. It also appraised for far greater than what we paid for it. I truly recommend this jewelry shop and especially Joseph and Arnold. Don’t settle for the rings in the displays if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for. Talk to Joseph and allow him to make you the ring of your dreams. Thank you so much, Jewelry Couture. You are my jeweler for life!
