I visited during Black Friday weekend so I can't assume that my visit was representative, but the store was a hot mess of clothing strewn everywhere. Most of the other stores I stopped in had several people who's only job was to clean up after all the materialistic disrespectful shoppers but unfortunately GUESS did not decide to do this. Aside from that, they have a ton of fun, funky clothing at reasonable prices. I'll definitely check it out again.

Apparently, the store manager's name is Grinch! No lie, that is what she told me when I asked her. Yesterday I went to Guess to return 2 items ($11.99) each. The items were gifts for my grandson, too small, and two items of many on one receipt (which I had.) The lines were long and the store, very crowded. in the middle of two lines with 3 cashiers, which was a bit confusing, was a display case with watches. I had switched from one line to the other because at one point I realized that the line I was in was also crowded with several people looking at the watches, not a problem really, but I thought the other line might be less congested. I then had to listen to the man in front of me get very upset as someone from the other line was called before him. Again no biggy, just busy as expected. Then, my turn. The young lady said that without the tags she could not take the return. I said that I do not leave the tags on the item when i wrap them for Christmas, and that I have the receipt so I would like the refund. She calls for the manager who was running the register at the other end of the line. The manger asks if there is a receipt and is told yes. She says to come down there and she will handle it. I say that I have waited in line a long while now, thinking that she can just come down and override a transaction. The answer is, "yes, and now you can wait here". What? Okay, I go down there and she says when she is done with the person she is waiting on she will help me. Next, she tells me "our policy is we do not return without tags", this is where I interrupt her, to say that I do not leave the tags on for Christmas gifts and how you can clearly tell the shirts are Guess shirts as they say so on the tag inside and on the front. Before I can get that all out, however, she is throwing the shirts back into the bag and telling me that she reserves the right not to wait on me, that I have no right to talk rude to her. What? Remember the guy in line complaining, he is at the register right next to her popping the F word right and left in reference now about the crowds, and the manager is laughing about it! Really? After tossing the bag behind her and basically telling me, without using those words, to leave the store, she ignores me and calls someone else up to be waited on. I decide to stand my ground and not be treated like an unruly child. I take the bag off the counter behind her and place it back in front of her telling her very nicely that I would like a refund. She again takes the bag and puts it on the counter behind her and calls another person up. This little game went on 4 times. I was embarrassed and very annoyed, the manager finally said that she would take care of this when she was done waiting on the next customer. As she was taking me information she said that if the shirts were to small she would think that my grandson would just get a bigger size! This manager also states that had I not been so rude she was going to do the return! My goodness! Very rude service!! After I left, I was walking to my car and I was trying to think if I really had been rude or nasty and honestly could not think when or where I had been. I went back into the store to get her name so that I could write it down it case I wanted to write an apology or a complaint. When I asked her if she thought I really had been rude she said "sure do" I said, that I really did not think I had been being rude. I then asked for her name and she looked at me and snarled and said "I guess it is Grinch, my name is Grinch". I then said, so you do not have a name, or an employee # she said no! Living in the neighborhood of Tanger Outlet, I do frequent the shops often. I will remember the service I received at this Guess store.
