Went in looking for Pandora jewelry for a birthday gift, and was informed that they do not sell Pandora Rose gold charms. The lady informed me that they only sell the rose gold products in Pandora stores which is not exactly true considering I just left another independent jewelry store in Waco with cases full of them. But the part that got me was just how unfriendly and unwelcoming the lady was when I was there. I told her exactly what I was looking for, and she just stood there not saying a word. I asked to see the charms, and she pointed to them and tapped on the glass with her finger. I asked again can you please pull out the trays so I could actually see them. Then on top of top that they had almost no sizes in stock other than extra small or for larger wrists. I bought what they had, and left confused about the whole experience. Sorry never going back there; definitely not treated like family.

I went to a couple of the other jewelers in College Station to buy a sapphire engagement ring for my fiance-to-be (now my wife!) I felt like the other jewelers didn't have the time of day for someone wanting to spend less than $10k on a ring. I went into Douglas on a day where they incidentally had one of their travelling gem salesmen in the shop, and I got to see a beautiful selection of sapphires that the guy happened to have on him. We spent some time talking about certain cuts and colors and qualities, and I felt like these guys were eager to help a young man looking for the right ring to propose with. I ended up using an old family ring to propose, but long story short, the gem in that ring turned out to be a synthetic sapphire. I needed the real thing! So my then-fiance and I found ourselves back at Douglas post-proposal so that she could design the exact ring she wanted. The Douglas guys sourced a gorgeous blue sapphire from the same gem expert I had met, and they have a service on their computers where they can run tons of different scenarios of how your stone will look in a number of different ring settings. My wife wanted a diamond halo around the sapphire, a band that wrapped around itself, and the stone set so that it wouldn't protrude too much but would catch the light off the diamonds. The ring that the Douglas guys delivered two weeks later blew us away. It was literally the best manifestation of all of our ideas. She gets compliments on her engagement ring about every other day it seems, and she has been absolutely thrilled with it in every way. It is like the cousin of Princess Diana's ring. These guys did such a good job. Douglas deserved every penny of what we paid for the quality of the ring and the excellent service we received. I highly recommend this shop. Also they had a dope credit card that if you can pay off within one year, it was 100% interest free. Essentially a free one-year loan. I just paid off the whole thing last month. FYI

Took my ring in to have a small diamond replaced after it fell out. (bought the ring from another jeweler out of town,) My friend suggested the store, so I took it in. It was fixed in just a couple days! Service with a smile and peace of mind! Great experience!! Will be back for future purchases!
