Recently had my Breitling serviced. Original quote: $6-700. Time to pay...out the door, it ended up being $1,400. Uh...what? ...to service a watch? ...not to plate it in 24K gold, rebuild it, or to get a new one...$1,400 to open it, put oil on it, and close it. To be fair, part of this is on Breitling themselves...they were recently bought out and are NOT the same company they once were...they nickel and dime on everything. But still, quite a bit off of the quote. I asked about a military discount...none. Airline discount? None. Human being on a middle-class income discount...none. You're telling me you can't take something off of a $1,400 watch servicing that was quoted at $700? About the only redeeming quality was that the watch smith was very helpful, knowledgable, and polite, (I can't complain about the people there) but overall I found the whole experience unpleasant...not a feeling you want to have when you spend that much money! I'd certainly recommend shopping around (unless you're a billionaire), and DON'T BUY A BREITLING!!!
