I have been to Hartley's 3 times in the last 10 years to have repair work and design work on both my and my husband's ring. First, I paid for an appraisal about a year ago since the last one was 10 years old and I needed an updated one to put on my home insurance. When I got my appraisal I was very disappointed when I saw the newly appraised price came in almost 3k below the old appraisal, even when I added more diamonds to it. The second disappointment was when I was adding 7 small diamonds in my band, they decided to leave one out without consenting with me first, so they just left one diamond out that I never approved of. The 3rd and last disappointment that set me off was a very simple request of white gold plating on my husband's 14k gold wedding band. I never talked about anything else but wanting the band to be dipped to 14k white gold. What I got was one small strip across the top of the ring and everything else was 14k gold. I am not a person who likes to make a scene and even though I should have let them know what they did was wrong, I ended up paying for it and walked out with no intentions of ever trusting them again. I have to say I am very sad since this was suppose to be a surprise for my husband on our 10 year anniversary. The ring barely looks like it had anything done to it. Sorry Hartley Jewelers...I chose to have business with you because of your long history of being here in the community, and also working on my grandparents jewelry but I'm afraid my last 3 visits have felt as if the people at the counter were not really "listening" to what I wanted.

I've known Hartley Jewelers for about five years. The service is exceptional. In fact I was in last week and was given first class service as always. There is no better jewelry place in thurston county.

Mr. Hartley designed a custom wedding band for my wife that is absolutely stunning. We had only a vague design idea but he made the process so easy, and was patient and extremely helpful. The price was reasonable and again, my wife is very happy. It is truly custom and one of a kind. We highly recommended Mr Hartley for custom jewelry.

What a fantastic experience! This store is friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. I wish we had bought my ring here to begin with, instead we went through multiple bad experiences with Panowicz Jewelers downtown. After spending money at Panowicz we still had to go through Hartley's for additional work on the ring since Panowicz failed so terribly not only by their customer service but whomever they send their jewelry repairs too is completely unreliable. Go to Hartley's first before going anywhere else in town.... beautiful selection, locally owned, comfortable atmosphere and dog friendly!

We visited Hartley Jewelers for an appraisal of my wife's new wedding set for insurance purposes. They were very courteous & professional to deal with. Hartley Jewelers provided us a detailed appraisal we presented to our insurance company which enabled them to quickly add the new wedding set to our homeowners insurance policy. The cost of the appraisal was very reasonable and we will return to them for future jewelry needs.
