If I could give this store a big fat ZERO, I would. I asked to have my wedding ring cleaned while I was picking up a repaired pair of earrings, and when I set it on the counter, a different associate came up, snatched the ring off the counter, and without a word, walked off with it. I was so horrified I couldn't even speak! I don't care if they work at a jewelry store, they can't just walk off with someone's $5000 ring without letting the owner know what they're going to do with it!!!! The associate then came back and started scaring me into getting repairs done to the ring, saying that one of the diamonds would fall off as soon as I walked out of the store and that it would be VERY expensive to replace the diamond (actually, more like $15 at Fred Meyers) and wanted to charge me $34.99 for a single prong to be re-tipped, and then another $32.99 to have the stone set, saying the diamond was loose and was wobbling around. I tried to manipulate the diamond myself... no movement at all, whatsoever. So I asked what the stone setting fee was about since the stone was already set, and she gave me some excuses and told me that basically she didn't know but she had to charge it. I told her that I had gotten all 56 prongs of my ring (has a lot of smaller diamonds around a central large diamond) re-tipped at Fred Meyer's for around $240, and she basically told me that I was a liar, saying no one would do it that cheap. Maybe not at Kay's!!!! Anyway, I walked out, went to Crown Jewelers down Barry rd, and she was able to give me an exact condition of the prong (not as bad as they made it out to be, not in the greatest condition but could use a re-tipping) and told me that it would cost $20 for the re-tip and NO stone setting fee. She was so confused.. why would there be a stone setting fee? The stone is already set! Needless to say, unless if there is a problem with the repair I had done with my earrings (there already is, just debating if it's a big enough problem to go back) I will NOT be going back to that store. Horrible!!! Stay away!!!
