If I could leave ZERO stars, I would. I visited the Chesterfield location Painting with a Twist on Sunday, April 2nd for the "Evening Sail" picture. Upon signing in with my party, we got our aprons/canvas and sat down. There was no introduction given prior to the class. No one talked about what Painting with a Twist was, that you were allowed to drink, no mention that they sold wine & beer there, nothing like other classes I've been too. The instructor was either brand new or just not experienced working on the "Evening Sail" picture. She kept drawing on the dry-erase board for the class to follow her, but then she would keep missing up, erasing, and redrawing.... over and over and over. This location, unlike other locations I've been too, did not have large screen TVs or Projectors on the walls to follow along. This made it very difficult since you were forced to watch her repeated erasing what was on the dry-erase board. We were given a few short breaks, which were not long enough to go to the bathroom and use the blow dryers on your picture. The whole class was rushed. Most of the people spent the whole break time still working on their picture, WHICH YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO DO. Nobody was at the same place on there picture when class restarted. And the instructor started drawing again even with people still drying their pictures with blow dryers. When my party opened the drinks we brought with us, we were told we could not have wine coolers there because of a city liquor law. BUT WE COULD BUY wine & beer with a higher alcohol content there. The person at the counter said she had to keep our drinks until the end of class. I've been to dozens of Painting with a Twist classes and never ran into this problem. It was embarrassing and should have never happened. Not to mention, other places offered complimentary wine and chips. This location did not. The ONLY reason I didn't demand a refund and leave is because we were there for a birthday party and I did not want to ruin it. However, looking back on the event I should have done just that because NOBODY had fun. The class was rushed and nobody walked around the class offering help. When you ran out of paint or napkins, you were S.O.L. because nobody restocked anything and it was hidden so you couldnt do it yourself. It was purely a painting class. If I wanted that, I would have took a class at MCC or gone to the Rec Center for much cheaper. None of our pictures came out looking like promised, and I realize that people can be hard on themselve and no 2 pictures are identical.... but its like seeing a comparison on pinterst that says #EpicFail. At the end of the class, the woman at the counter gave me a hard time about getting my wine coolers back because of driving with open intoxics. I just felt this was a major waste of time and money. I was highly disappointed because I paid for our group of people to come have fun for a birthday. Again, nobody had fun. Our pictures werent even dry at the end of the class. They forgot about the prize at the end of class, and when I asked at the counter they didnt verify the numbers. I could have said I had a million likes and nobody would have known. While I love Painting with a Twist, I would NEVER, EVER, recommend or come back to the Chesterfield location again.
