We had Stanford Painting paint our house earlier this summer. They did a first class job from start to finish. Jay was very helpful in choosing a new paint color and contrasting door color. His supervisor, Adam, was very responsive to all my questions and concerns. His crews were on time and meticulous, very good with clean up and careful with my plantings. Not only did Stanford Painting do a great job, but I value the fact that they are a local, long-time company. They provide value for the money spent and were a pleasure to work with.

First of all, this is an unsolicited review. These days a lot of companies are offering $25-$50 off if a Yelp review is written within 24 hours, no one asked us to write a review. It was a difficult decision which painting company to go with. Many had reviews with glowing remarks. We finally chose Stanford Painting because for 20 years I had seen its painting trucks around Palo Alto and over that period of time, friends who had used the company gave it consistently high ratings. The caveat had been that although they did a wonderful job, they were high priced. Truthfully, when the bids were all in, their estimate was in the middle for both cost and time needed. Both, to us were important. [I also made certain that the work was not sub-contracted out (like Armstrong Painting does).] The bids were for 3 sides (back) of a single-story, stucco house. Extensive repairs had been made to the exterior due to dry-rot and termites. So the paint job involved "new" as well as "old" materials. The windows and doors had mostly been replaced. So the majority of the "new" work involved the stucco and the wooden eaves. The "old" included stucco, wooden eaves and 2 casement metal windows and a wood & glass door with screen. The painting crew that Jay Furlough (owner of Stanford Painting) assigned us was: Armando, Jose & Jose Louis, with Frank Hampton as roaming troubleshooter. It was a strong crew. I felt throughout that the job was well-organized, time-efficient, clean and skillfully executed.
