Loved the entire experience here. My daughter and her friend both painted a piece here. They spent over an hour working on and creating their own work of art. Turn around time is fairly quick too. We will try to make a visit here every so often to practice our painting skills. I love that there is somewhere allowing kids and adults to explore the art of painting. The owners were also there working on a few pieces themselves and offered words of encouragement to all of those working.

The concept of this place is great. I grew up coming here back when it was Flying Saucers, and I’ve visited it as Hearts of Clay a few times. My main complaint is the carelessness of some of the staff. I get that accidents happen, but the last two times I’ve been here, something has happened to one of my pieces. The first time, one of them got lost, and when I came by to pick it up I was told that it must have gotten thrown into a bag from a party that had been there recently. I didn’t get too upset over it because stuff happens. They gave me a $10 gift certificate to replace it which was fair. The next and most recent time I visited, I had finally talked my husband into going with me to paint some little collectibles for our baby (I’m currently pregnant with our first). My husband isn’t usually into stuff like that, so it was a lot for him to go with me to do this. Fast forward a few weeks and I get a voicemail stating that one of the pieces (the one my husband had painted) had been placed on a shelf wrong and got knocked off and broken. In the voicemail, the lady offered to replace it with another gift certificate or another piece just like it. I waited to address this until I could go up there in person because I’ve been quite emotional lately, and there was some sentimental value in these pieces, the first gifts we made for our baby. When I went in to pick up my surviving piece, I asked them if it would be possible to glue the piece together and the man tried to. What sucks is that they had thrown away some of the chips that came off of the piece when it broke, so even though it’s glued together it’s still incomplete. Me being the sometimes-too-nice person that I am, I didn’t argue and took the pieces and left. The more I’ve thought about it, the more upset I get over how this was handled. I feel like I should have still been offered some sort of compensation for the SECOND broken/missing piece, and even when I explained the sentiment behind the piece, I still was not offered anything because they glued together some of the pieces that they hadn’t thrown away. I feel like this situation could have been handled a lot better, and I’m sorry that I’m having to leave a poor review online regarding the matter. There are other ceramic painting studios out there guys, and even though I’ve come here for a long time, I know that there are other options. Please do better in the future, because I’m very disappointed.

My grown son and I went to the mother son date night. We had so much fun, even though we were the only middle-aged mother and adult son there. We created some beautiful pieces and some great memories. One of the young mothers that was there told me that she hopes when her son is grown that he will continue to find time to have fun with her.
