I had a great experience with Marcelo from American Painting. He not only gave me a free estimate, but explained all the details of what he was going to do based on my needs. The quality of his work is top of the line and his rates are extremely reasonable!

I have had Marcelo come to do work for me twice. The first time was several months ago when I needed to have my patio painted. He returned my phone call immediately and gave suggestions as to how get the best result and I hired him. He came on time, worked diligently, was professional and took pride in his work. I am only renting so I couldn't have him do additional work for me until now. I am moving and the only company I would even think of calling was American Painting. Once again, he gave me a time he would arrive. He had to be delayed about 20 minutes but he called to tell me. I like being kept informed. He arrived ready to work and did an excellent job painting my walls, touching up some other areas and painted my front door. He even had some paint that he felt would be better than the one I chose. The door looks better than when I moved in. I am moving over 500 miles away but if I ever get back to this wonderful area again I would certainly not hesitate to call Marcelo for any painting work needed. I am pleased to happily recommend American Painting.

I usually don't write reviews but feel compelled to do so in this case. I had Marcelo of American Painting recently do some house painting for me, and I was very impressed with the work he did. It is clear he has been doing this a long time, and has acquired a high degree of skill and professionalism. His attention to detail and diligent effort to be sure I was very satisfied with his work makes him stand out from other painting contractors I have used in the past. I would highly recommend Marcelo/American Painting for all of your painting needs. I am confident you will be more than satisfied and glad you did.

I highly recommend Marcello of American Painting. He's both an artist and a craftsman. Conscientious and neat. I relied on him for insights and suggestions. He'll be our "go to guy" for any further painting projects. Marcello did a really good job with the three painting projects he did for us, i.e., (1) preparing (salvaging) and painting our badly sun damaged front door, (2) painting the roof fascia, chimney tops, and dark brown window frames, etc., and (3) applying "Shingle Oil by Chevron" to my backyard, redwood fence. While our agreement provided that I buy all the paint, Marcello brought along some undercoat material called "Elastomeric" which he applied as an undercoat to help fill in the cracks caused by sun damage that were in our south facing fascia boards. A nice result.

Approximately 3-4 yrs. ago Marcelo painted the entire interior of our house. This required several coats and prior washing, due to both our color selection (bright white) and heavy nicotine deposits. Additionally, there was a challenge due to the heavy furniture that needed moving. The painting schedule was complicated because of our four cats, and Marcelo worked around their (and our) schedule to minimize the impact on us.. This spring (Y2013), Marcelo carried out another project which required complete fascia painting with extensive power-washing, scraping, priming of all bare wood, and two coats of paint. Also much wood rot had to be filled to avoid the cost of replacement. A very recent project, two months ago, required re-painting the shower bathroom after upgraders were done to this room. Again there was much priming, patching, sanding, re-priming to be done prior to final painting. We used Marcelo Berman's services in all of the above, because we have been very happy with the results. His work, both inside and outside our house, was meticulous and first class. We would certainly use him again, when and if the situation would arise. Please do not hesitate to use us as a reference for him. Cheers, Sorab Ghandhi. Professor.
