I am one of the unit owners of a 6 unit condo in the Marda Loop area. Last Fall we had a backup in the main sewer line. The situation was complicated; without getting into the details, we had an extremely difficult time diagnosing and fixing the problem. After trying 3 plumbing companies, the City (4 times), and a restoration company, unable to fix the issue, we finally had Calgary Roto Rooter on the scene. The owner (Brian), was able to borrow a locating device from a friend to locate and excavate the sewer line in the front yard. The City would not do this, as they were afraid of liability. They went above and beyond and even gave us a discount at the end! I’d recommend their services to anyone; their ability to troubleshoot was what we needed and they were great to work with!

Outstanding service. The technician "Vic", informed me of the cost up front, and proceeded to stay 5 hours until my main sewer line was cleared of roots. Many times he and a colleague ran a camera in the pipe and would see there was still some roots in the line. They stayed until the line was completely cleared and would not leave until the line (over 70 feet) was as clear as possible. No extra charge appeared at the end of the work. Highly recommend Roto Rooter.

Be careful in regards to WHAT you expect them to accomplish. Called as the shower/toilet were having issue, and it was suggested that a mainline auger would be the solution. They augered until they reached a section of pipe that has partially collapsed (the city was able to push through with their tools AFTER the Roto-Rooter visit), and then told us the job was done. As we soon discovered, the shower/toilet continued to show "issues", and another plumber was called to diagnose. He removes the toilet and the grate over the shower, and finds TONS of roots. The mainline runs under both the toilet and shower (+/- 1 foot). I can see why the toilet continued to have issues. Roto Rooter stands by the claim that they "fixed" our problem, as they had believed (and suggested) to clean the mainline. We paid for a power auger, and we got it. That the city was able to provide additional services (FREE) and that the toilet/shower issues weren't resolved is a separate matter. For another full service fee call, they'll look at the reason for the first call. They did what we CONTRACTUALLY signed for, although it didn't FIX the issue. Technically, they did their job. You judge for yourself.

From the patient, sweet receptionist to Joel the knowledgeable, pleasant plumber, technicien, the service was excellent. The kitchen sink is draining properly now and we are very pleased. Thank you Joel.
