Was good the first few times we used him. His latest antics seem counter intuitive to good business practices from people who were giving him a good word of mouth and even recommended him to a few friends of ours who were doing new builds. We set up an appointment time to come and fix a plumbing issue that is giving us problems but he had to cancel because he was on vacation. That's fine, we tried to set up a few more times because we wanted to hire him again, but for whatever reason he has not returned calls or texts. There were no previous issues. I tried calling from a different number, and he responded, but again has stopped. It just seems like an odd way to do business. I can just imagine that he might be busy and that our job is too small. Here's a hint... just be professional and state that you cannot come. You know our number. This review can change if you think that you might want to respond like a proper busines should.
Perplexed at the lack of response.
Edit; Aug 22, 2017 - After about a dozen attempts to contact Tom by my wife and myself, some of the texts of which he had responded to and then stopped when we asked if he was able to do the work, or should we look elsewhere, I finally got a hold of him in an attempt to see "what's up". Tomas was pretty upset with my review. He didn't scream or raise his voice, but he couldn't get over the fact that I put my thoughts online with the obvious lack of response we were getting. I mean, you want to hire someone again, and have sent dozens of texts and left dozens of messages, some of the text he even responded to, but then are completely blanked out and you're confused as to why. So, Tom was not happy with my review above which is 100% accurate and said "it left a bitter taste in his mouth and that is not how he rolls". I suppose social media is only for positive reviews in Tom's mind? It actually doesn't work that way. When people are unhappy they usually leave nasty reviews. I did not. It was an attempt to get his attention and see what was truly the situation. In other words, we still wanted to use him.
At any rate, given his response today, we're moving on. There are dozens of plumbers with good BBB reviews that would be more than happy to do the work.
Again, I'm just perplexed that a business owner wouldn't want to have rectified the situation, and I remain, with the very poor customer service.
If you're too busy to do the work, the proper response is to let the customer know, and there's no excuse for ignoring dozens of messages politely asking you if you can come, and when.
We've handed your card out to many people because we were happy with your service before this, but that's obviously going to stop.
I want to re-iterate, I have nothing against Tom personally. When he actually came to appointments he did good work. When he decided not to show up, and again admittedly because he was busy, but also declined to be professional and at least respond to the same effect, then it "left a bitter taste in our mouths as well" and inspired this review.
All the best Tom with your future endeavors. Just remember, customer service is king.
