Always professional, knowledgeable, prompt service with very fair prices. They have been able to diagnose and repair all of our plumbing and heating needs, as well as resolve issues created by other contractors cutting corners. I highly recommend this company.

My mom called JMS Plumbing and heating for a second opinion on her furnace that had been taken out of service and tagged by another company. The other company had turned off the gas, cut the thermostat cable and tagged the furnace. The other company told my mom that the furnace had a cracked heat exchanger and bad burners. Jim Romer from JMS Plumbing and Heating went to my mom's house on a Saturday to check out the furnace. My mom asked me to be there and meet with him because she doesn't know anything about furnaces. At first glance of the furnace Jim was betting that it could be fixed and didn't have a cracked heat exchanger. He explained to me that some companies will tell people they have a cracked heat exchanger and scare them about carbon monoxide poisoning just to sell new furnaces. Jim said that CO poisoning is a real danger if there is in fact a cracked heat exchanger, but that he doubted this furnace had one. Jim turned the gas back on and lit up the furnace. He noticed that only one out of three burners was lighting. He said that sometimes the burners get clogged up or corroded and that they need a good cleaning with a wire brush. He cleaned the burners and cleaned the orifices and reinstalled the burners. The furnace worked fine after that. He tested the furnace with a CO meter and found no issues. He said that the heat exchanger wasn't cracked at all. Jim charged my mom a very reasonable amount for the service. In fact, he probably could have charged a lot more considering he came out on a Saturday! Jim seems to be a man with integrity and I wouldn't hesitate to call JMS Plumbing and Heating in the future with any plumbing or heating needs.
