HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE!! If a ZERO rating was possible, I would have preferred that! COTTAGERS & MUSKOKA RESIDENTS BEWARE! June 9, 2022 we paid $2,500.00 for a new PUMP & TANK. We were told to buy a new TANK (although the existing one was fine) to avoid future "warranty issues". We were also sold on how we were getting a "quality product" with "brass fittings" from the USA, and not a "cheap pump from China". In LESS THAN 3 MONTHS we noticed SIGNIFICANT RUSTING OVER THE ENTIRE PUMP. We wrote several emails and made several phone calls to "PETER" the OWNER of BRIGGS. PETER NEVER RESPONDED to our numerous attempts to speak with him for over 4 weeks. We emailed BRIGGS last week stating that we were closing the cottage the weekend of October 21-24th and needed the pump replaced. No response. Early today (October 24th) after several attempts to reach BRIGGS, we heard from "Ashley" in "customer service". She verbally abused us and stated that this was a "manufacturing issue, and none of their concern". There was NO ASSISTANCE TO ENGAGE THE MANUFACTURER AND TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. Further to this we were told to have no further contact with BRIGGS as it would be seen as "HARRASSMENT". Of course we are pursuing action against this unprofessional business, but we hope other COTTAGERS AND LOCAL RESIDENTS IN MUSKOKA will look ELSEWHERE for their plumbing needs! BRIGGS plumbing in Huntsville cannot be trusted, and they will NEVER get the business of our friends and family in the Muskoka Region. BEWARE!

I have never written a review on Google before. We called with a plumbing emergency (sewer backup in basement) for our cottage and were told to send an email or fill out their form, and call back in 2 hours. We did both and they acknowledged receipt. However, they could not respond to the emergency. We understood that they were busy and asked if we could book anything - they said no, we would have to wait until they had time, as our emergency was not a true emergency given that our property was a cottage. This despite the fact that we could not use the toilets or run any water. Being in a desperate situation, I requested that they put us on the list and could they give us 4 hours notice of when they could come? They said no they could only give 30 minutes notice even though we lived 2 hours away and we couldn’t stay at the cottage since there was no plumbing! I asked “How are we supposed to do business with you?” And they said just fill out their form and they might be able to get to us sometime, no guarantees. I understand that they are busy and have to prioritize permanent homes, but why do they advertise emergency service and make you waste your time when they have no intention of accommodating you? This was the most bizarre interaction I’ve ever had with a business, but I guess I should not be surprised given the owner’s responses to some of the complaints on here that were essentially the same as ours.

In April I had a new water filter installed after a water test was taken to determine what I needed. I had an older iron filter replaced. After the water test came back I was recommended to get a filter with self sacrificing media as the soil was acidic and the iron was already known as an issue. The new filter was installed and the water has been clear and great to drink. I do not know what type of filter I have. The manual does not state if the filter is simply an iron filter or a filter with the self sacrificing media in it. The issue is with communication. The installers recommended I simply turn off the water while not at the cottage. Leave the power on in the unit so it cycles but water off. Reading the manual it recommends not doing that at all. I have since sent three e-mails to their offices asking for 1. the results of the water test I apparently paid for and confirmation that 2. I can in fact turn off the water. To this date I have received no response. Based on their recommendation I fear turning the water off will void the warranty. Great product, Personal service lacks. I hope this review gets someone to respond.

Peter Briggs went above and beyond to help me. Frozen pipes in the middle of winter, he came out same day and stayed until 10pm two nights in a row to get water restored to our commercial building as well as the house. I cannot recommend Briggs enough. Thanks Peter!

I was quoted hourly rate of $150.00 but was charged $175.00 per hour?? Why the increase over a 2-3 week period?.
