I had Greg to weld my propane water heater, it froze and busted the copper pipe. He did an excellent job, great customer service and communication, quick turnaround time, too. Tested and cleaned it in their shop as well, you can't ask for more. I talked to 5 other plumbers on the phone, they didn't even know what I was talking about. Fred's is highly recommended, they know their trade.

Had Fred's in to address a leak and do some preventative maintenance at the same time. The service itself was fine - no issues with the quality of the repair. Billing on the other hand is regrettable. The bill was padded an extra 30% on top of what already was a generous amount (should have been 2.5 hours of billing for 1.75 hours of combined work and wait time, instead the bill was for 3.5 hours). Asking for a breakdown of labour yields nothing. Oh well. Never again.

Bought a “top of the line” pellet stove from Fred’s. It has never been “Top of the line” It has never operated properly. I’ve had Greg over to try and resolve the problem several times. He told me that that’s just the way it was and that it’s the type of pellets I was burning. I’ve tried multiple types of pellets. Hard and soft. The stove is an absolute piece of s#^t and now the warranty is up and we are stuck with it. I would never recommend Fred’s. They are incompetent and disorganized. Very poor customer service.

Had a new propane furnace installed in 2016. The Good: The owner Greg seems knowledgeable, caring, provided a thorough explanation and recommendations outside of just a furnace replacement which led us to choose Fred's. The Not So Good: Our install took around two months (Oct. & Nov.) necessitating costly electrical space heaters and wasn't responsive to our concerns at the time. We were told Fred's "was busy" and waiting on 3rd party duct fabrication causing the delays. 2019 Update We've had ongoing issues with the furnace not working when the weather goes below -30. Fred's needed to fix some things that haven't been done to date. Our experience with ongoing support has been both good with immediate response and not so good with no response, delays and no explanation. We continue to use Fred's. (Edited).

Greg and his team added ductings in my basement to improve heating efficiency. You could tell when he came to evaluate the work that he really cared about finding the best solution for me while respecting my budget, which I appreciated. They had to cut through my freshly painted walls in order to get the ductings down to floor level - I was pretty nervous about the whole thing as I did not want to repaint. They literally did a surgical work and I could barely notice the incisions on the walls after they were done! They also did a great job at leaving the space clean upon completion. I was so happy! It really improved the level of comfort in my basement in terms of temperature, without having to add any electric baseboards (which would have been way more expensive). I also appreciated that Greg made a priority of getting the work done in time for my roommates who were moving in - he was able to fit me into his schedule within 2 weeks after he came for the quote, and everything was completed on time. I will definitely call them again for future work .
