Thursday night, full blown back up. Called, and was immediately given an appointment for first thing in the morning. Was able to attempt to move things out of the way. Service man arrived, assessed the situation and went to work. He indeed rooted out the problem in interior sewer line, and exterior sewer line, notifying me that the main problem was the roots in the yard invading the line. I was given an estimate on what that would cost, to be done at a later date. Good news: Flooding and back up was drained, so basement and can be laundry can be accessed again. Bad news: not ONE bit was cleaned up. I went to the basement a few hours later to put laundry in and found the entire floor covered in the flushed waste and toilet paper that had been removed/unplugged from the drain! Yes, it was stinky, yucky, and awaiting me to take care of it. I used a squeegee, old towels, had to move items out of the way. I will mention I did all this with one hand, as I had surgery on my broken wrist yesterday. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED as the fee was not cheap, and to just leave a mess like that is not safe, hygienic, or good for business. Needless to say, I will not likely "Pick up my phone and call Roto-Rooter" again.
