The technicians (Ken and an apprentice) got to my house within the first hour of the four hour window given (which is always nice, not much waiting around). They were friendly and knowledgeable and were able to quickly assess what the issue was. They were thorough in resolving it, and they kept me informed through the process (snaking the main drain for my house). I also asked if they would look at something totally unrelated to the reason for the service call (running toilet) since they were here. They offered to replace the broken part, since they had the needed part in their truck and were already here, for a lower rate than they would typically charge for the job. Overall it was a great experience

I used Grade A pluming through my Home Warranty company American Home Shield, who I give a 0 star rating for this particular service call.I had Grade A on a few occasions, they installed a water heater and and back-up for my sump pump. The work was very good and I was completely satisfied. However, I recently had them out to investigate a problem (we thought it had something to do with the sump pump). The plumber came out and my husband showed him the sump pump, engaged the pump, but didn't investigate any further,( ie by taking the cover off and looking more closely at the pump). He then checked all the toilets and found a very slow leak which he repaired. He also recommended that we have our meter checked. Which we did. (its never the meter). Bottom line, the sump pump was bad and they had to come back and replace the pump. My problem is that I had to pay 2 service fees, when both issues should have been addresses that day. I also called the office several times on the first day after he left and got no response or a call back to my messages. I also did not receive a written bill until I requested it (via email) and there was no description of the new pump installation. (just a 1/2 hp pump as installed).

We were connected to Grade A through our Home Warranty (American Home Shield) to replace our water heater. Since our warranty did not cover the heater in this instance we decided to pay Grade A for a new heater along with installation since their price was competitive. That was earlier today. As of right now a bad weld during their installation has caused even more water damage then the initial heater crack did. And there is no number to call, the only number they have goes to their office which closes at 5, and the only option is to leave a message. I attempted to call the tech and it went straight to his voicemail. So we once again have no hot water and no way to contact them to fix the problem which they now have caused. Maybe when I eventually talk to them they can make things right and pay for the damages and earn themselves a second star. Until then I'll keep enjoying my cold showers.

I unfortunately had this company sent out by my home warranty. In fairness, they were prompt in handling the matter (broken water heater), but the problem is that they forced me to give them my old water heater AND charged me $125 to do so. When I didn't agree to that, because I could do it myself for free with the city, they were just going to leave the house with items already undone. At that point, they had to be paid. I find that to be a scam and unethical. They state it is "company policy" for "liability" and couldn't provide me with any government requirements or paperwork to back it up when requested. Now I'm out $125 for something I could have done myself for free. Look elsewhere if you can.

Update: I have this company sent to me by my home warranty company. (Grade A Plumbing, Raliegh NC) The technician who performed the checks did not actually do anything as I watched him the whole time. He then claimed to his manager that he did perform tests. I went up with a multimeter and checked it myself. The lower heating element is bad which I found out within 30 seconds of testing. I asked them to send a different plumber and they refused. This is by far the worst service I have ever received, there sheer unwillingness to correct their own mistake has wasted nearly eight hours of my life between calling the Home Warranty company and grade A Plumbing. See attached multimeter continuity test
