Haller Enterprises - Harrisburg/Mechanicsburg Branch

Unfortunately, we like many homeowners awoke to our furnance not working during this cold snap. They came out last Sunday. We called at 515 AM & the technition arrived around 330. He diagnosed the problem as an air filter exchange & we were charged $360...double the upcharge because it was a holiday AND a weekend or after hours service call. Fine. This Sat we awoke again to no heat. I called Haller. And this is what's interesting. The service rep asked "have we serviced your furnace previously?". Why yes...yes you have, 6 days ago. She goes on to say after a few more questions that unfortunately they've been swamped with emergency calls & they can't get out until Sunday & you guessed it. Now, it's an additional upcharge because its after hours. My comments were #1 I'm calling during service hours so why should I have to pay an upcharge because you can't get out until non service hours? And #2 You were just here 6 days ago & for $360 you obviously misdiagnosed & didn't fix the problem. Essentially she said it is what it is. Now I'm not stupid & I know companies jack their prices up & rape the consumers when they know you are vulnerable. I can bet you Haller saw many customers today that they had never serviced before because they get that upchaege while those of us who have been previous customers get screwed. Ridiculous! Thanks to the internet we were able to Google the symptoms, diagnose it & order the part online for $41 & that includes shipping. We also googled how to install in & seriously, a monkey with a wrench can install it. So consumer beware of unscrupulous business practices!

My husband and I were having issues with not getting hot water (a huge issue for me!) and Haller came out quickly (on a Saturday with no upcharge, which after calling around a bit, we found out was rare). We just bought our house, so we weren't exactly sure how long the issue had been going on. They diagnosed the problem with our hot water heater quickly and educated us on things to watch out for. I'd recommend Haller to anyone!

I am very disappointed with this company. When I was in the process of buying my first heat pump a couple of years ago I contacted numerous area companies for quotes. Among them was Home Depot in State College. Home Depot turned my request over to Haller Enterprises, their installer. After considering price and service I decided to use Home Depot/Haller Enterprises. In large part this was based on the presentation of the Haller Enterprises sales representative. A major part of his presentation dealt with me being able to trust their service. I remember him describing the company as growing and him telling me how many service trucks the company had. I was assured of reliable service. This year Haller Enterprises decided that they would no longer service my heat pump because they didn't want to come to Lewistown, which is 30 miles closer to them than State College where the Home Depot is located.. I had had trouble getting my Spring service scheduled because of the changes they were making but was able to do so. I paid for maintenance and service by the month and the first I became aware that my service and maintenance plan had definitely been discontinued was when my payment for June was not deducted from my account. There was no email or letter prior to that time. I called Trane and they gave me the name of another service company nearby. While I was looking for a mew maintenance provider I went on the Home Depot website and found a form where I could request a maintenance plan. I filled out the form and sent it to Home Depot. The next day I received an email from Home Depot indicating that I could follow the path of my request on their website. I looked and the site indicated "Cancelled." I phoned Home Depot and asked about the cancellation and found that it had gone to Haller Enterprises and was cancelled by them not by Home Depot. Since Home Depot had only Haller Enterprises listed for installation and service, the representative contacted them by phone and got the same story I was getting that they would not service this area. He was unable to provide any help since Haller Enterprises was their company of record and they had on one else listed for this area. He was as helpful as he could be and I feel like he ended up in the same situation in which I found myself I will say that the installation and service I received (while I had it) was excellent, but if you are basing your decision on whom to buy from on the service you can expect after the sale I suggest you look elsewhere.

Haller offers quick, reliable service at reasonable prices. I have used them multiple times and have always received quality customer service and top of the line work. Anyone seeking heating & cooling services around Harrisburg should give them a call.
