Be careful here as there is both a sports bar and a rather fancy restaurant here and they are not really the same place. For my part, I went to the restaurant. To keep it simple, it is pricey and hard to find but I'd you're willing, the atmosphere, service and food are worth it. It feels very much like an old time hunting lodge and does take you to a different time in the winter. A massive elk head is mounted on the far wall and vintage patterned chairs really complete the feel. We had "the experience" which will run you $80 but was a delicious 4 courses. If you're of discerning taste and in for fondue then you're better off here than in the more proletarian grizzly house which will jam you in and feature a more novelty-style approach. The classic fondue was delicious and an extremely healthy sized portion schnitzel will fill even the most expansive stomach. Then fill that secondary "dessert" stomach with a lovely, and not overly sweet chocolate fondue. Overall, staff was friendly, courteous and thoughtful. Very accommodating of allergies. Knocked a star off mainly because it is slightly overpriced TBH and the signage to find the place, especially in the dark, is terrible. P. S. Initial starter was a salad; nice but nothing special.

Can be a little quiet, which denies Waldhaus 5 stars. Originally built as the clubhouse for the adjacent golf course, the building and location has character. Staff are helpful and polite, and for casual dining, this is the best choice within the Banff Springs hotel complex. Pretty good choice of drinks, and a fine pool table too...

I was intrigued by the description of this place - but my expectations were tempered. Until I arrived - what a delightful blend of old and new. The service was excellent & the fondue delicious (I had the truffle type per the server's recommendation). A special evening - not to be missed while you are staying at the banff springs hotel.

Little bit pricey but it is in Banff. Awesome little spot and the service is on point. The food was great and unique and the beer brewed by big rock was cold and refreshing again a bit on the pricy side. The cocktails were awesome as well and the girlfriend loved her maple coffee liqueur. Such a good little spot if you are skating or tobogganing down the hill.

Good food and service, but not the type of "German" food I was expecting. Maybe my idea of German food is not the "fancy" type served here. Anyway, it is a very good place to visit.
