Staff were less than helpful. When it came to having to ask the price on a demo set .. they quoted 3x the price I was able to find online. Won't shop here again.

A few weeks ago, I noticed the head on my 3 wood was starting to move down the shaft even though it felt tight so I took in to Strictly Golf to have the head taken off and re-set. I dealt with one of the owners, Bill Duncan, throughout this process. I gave him the club and he immediately started twisting the head against the shaft. I stated that I didn't think that was a good idea with graphite shafts but he said that he does that all the time. He no sooner got the words out of his mouth and the shaft shattered at the head. Well we went into the back room to their small shop where he proceeded to cut the broken piece off and stick the remainder into the head for me to go try. Well, it was like hitting a 2x4 so I returned to the store. We went back to the shop where he found an old shaft out of the junk pile and put that on and added a 3' extension which I require. Well it felt really bad but I left to try it for a couple of rounds which was just simply not acceptable. I returned to Bill at which time he, along with a colleague hit it into the screen. They both swung for the fences and of course said it was okay. I was not happy so Bill kept the club and eventually put on a different shaft with the same result. Then talked me into trying it a regular length and eventually put on a further shaft picked up from Jim Fuhr. It was all bad. So in the meantime I ordered a new Wishon shaft from the US and took it into Kelowna and had it mounted. I originally had a Winn oversize grip and ended up with something entirely different from my whole set. So I find out that the last shaft they used was for an iron and not a wood which did not surprise me. So I went back in today after several weeks with both the new 3 wood and the last old shaft they put on. I handed him the old shaft and the new club and told him that what he was holding was what I expected. He would not engage me in conversation and I didn't want to raise a stink in their store so I went home to cool off. I phoned him later and said that I got the impression that it was a done deal. He said it was and that he did all he could do to help. I said that he was the one that broke the club in the first place and it had cost me 150.00 to fix and asked if he felt any obligation in that regard and he said "no". I said that I had been patient throughout the process and was really unsatisfied. I also asked how he felt about me providing 150.00 of bad advertising in kind and his reply was that it didn't matter. I plan on telling everyone I know what happened to me and let them know how well I was treated in the pro shop at Golf Town in Kelowna where I will take my business in the future.
