One of the best public courses in southern Michigan. Excellent condition and fantastic views. Several risk/reward opportunities to score.

27 amazing golf holes. This has a Northern Michigan feel and is a must play if you are an avid golfer. Conditions are great and pace of play is usually pretty good. A great option if you are golfing in the area.

A really nice course. It gives you an "up north" feel right in town. Most of the holes are protected from road noise and someone's back yard. There are a few holes that need to be played once or twice in order to understand them.

Course in great shape. Greens fast and true. Sand trap sand great. Very difficult to play 1st time. Ridiculous slopes/hills on hidden fairways that can take your ball 100 feet from were it lands. Need to know where not to hit on greens as so sloped and fast can get in places were you either make the putt or it is 10 ft past. Staff below par. No greeting when entering pro shop. Ranger pushed us to tee off 6 minutes before our tee time. Had to wait for a twosome on 10 they put out in front of us. Food good but wait staff a mixed bag. Pulled tables together for our group, but left in middle of taking orders then came back to finish (strange). Never followed up on refilling glasses.

The Jesuits own this course, so they should have named it purgatory. I guess if you played it enough you could learn to avoid the windmills and clown noses, but why would you want to do that? It is an awesome piece of property and the designer has created many spectacular views. Most of them, however, are seen only from the back tees, which are much more elevated than the white tees. You drive down the hill into valleys, then hit your drive blindly over another hill onto mounded and severely sloped fairways, ready to kick your ball into the too deep rough. When are folks going to realize that Arthur Hills courses are NOT FUN to play?
